Anyhow, I was going to troll Travis Cloke, then have a go at Tim Watson, both flogs IMO, but I'll go with Barry Davis, who played 289 games for Essenscum and Norf, and by all reports a better bloke than those two campaigners.

now we are a Ron Barassi days away from the Season opener. Yes, Ron wore jumper 31 for Melbourne, and then played for CarLoLton a bit. 6 premierships in 9 years is not too shabby.

Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November, and thats the same number of days until the start of the season. As I ponder the way back machine to dig up a player in #30 jumper, I see Peter Matera wore this number. 253 games, 217 goals, 2 flags, a Norm Smith, and an Indigenous Italian. Possibly the only Weagle not on the gear for his era.

A cute small forward who sadly missed the 1997 final (Even sadder for Peter was he ended up at Melbourne...…. )but back when karma actually worked , he made it to the big dance in 1998 -


Always seemed when Vardy played well, the Crows played well.



Now 30 is worn by Wayne Milera Junior -------- am looking forward to a break out year to keep the Vardy legacy alive !

I was at that game. Rd 22 1998. Tigers had to win to make the finals but the Dees ran rampant and won by over 70. I thought one Richmond supporter’s head was going to explode at one stage he was so furious. Fun times....

Oh yes! I was there too. Mate had an MCC membership and my cousin and I got in as Guests.
IIRC Richmond ended up finishing 9th again.
Stepdad was not impressed - grabbed my scarf and pretended to wipe his arse with it.
