I'd try him as a run with tagger, or a back pocket.
That approach certainly worked for one of our previous captainsTagger does seem like the best option left. Let him play to his strengths e.g. defensive efforts, and hope that time spent following a more accomplished player around the park might help fill in whatever it is that he's currently missing.

Willo injury is back. Had stress fractures last year which have flared up again. This comes from within the playing group. I didn't ask about crohns but I have no reason to believe this source would be wrong so I'm confident it is the back.
Also the club are beside themselves regarding Walsh, within the club he's already being considered in our top half dozen or so players. This comes from the top brass at the club (off field).
#Bluemour
I'm guessing that's not published info, but I don't remember him touching the footy at all.Where dis?

Nah, weiters will step up and be a great captain while Walsh, SPS, Dow and Charlie are the stars.Did they mention an expected return date for Willo?
Not surprised by the commentary regarding Walsh. We're going to have many exciting players in the club but I think he'll take over the captaincy after Cripps and Doc.
And please don't take that comment as though I'm trying to push Cripps and Docherty out of the captaincy position. I'm making this comment because sometimes you just know what you've got. Walsh will be a leader of the club at some stage in the future.

If it is indeed his back again rather than Crohn's, I am stoked.
Why stoked?

is this still a thing now? or has it been 'fixed'I thought I’d have something definitive on Willo today but donuts....sorry..I’ll keep prodding.
One little piece of info I did get though is that one of Russell’s first impressions of our playing group is that he thought there was a mental fragility amongst both the younger and senior players. Not sure what that means though.

He’s just got there so I doubt itis this still a thing now? or has it been 'fixed'
That makes sense.I interpret that as a lack of inner drive and ability to deal with adversity.
Basically the opposite of Walsh.
Did your source give any idea on what was being done to strengthen that aspect? He’s just got there so I doubt it
