Shown enough to prove when physically right he cuts it at AFL level. He may have entered the 2017 GF under the radar but he did some very telling things in that where plenty of players made less from decent chances on the day. May need time to get confidence in his shoulder but plenty of credits in the bank has Graham.

I only get fixated on stats when he has like <10p and his oppo has 35-40 . We can’t possibly be winning when that happens whatever spin you care to out on it , it means the rest of our mids have got to win 25% more ball to pick up the slack
I am a fan of Graham, however, you're correct. His possessions are way too low and will need to get to around a 20+ average or he'll become a liability. I think we need to give him 3 or 4 weeks to assess if he has got it him. A little patience won't hurt. But something we'll need sorted by mid year.

For the stat experts out there .. is there a sort of mid field possession limit in that if Graham starts picking up 15 more possessions a game does that mean he’s basically taking 15 possessions away from Dusty Cotch and co. It’s true he doesn’t get many possessions but is that purely because he’s a role player?
How do our overall mid field stats stack up.

If he gets <10p and oppo gets 35+ what role is he playing exactly, my fear for the bloke is that he’s too slow for the level

He's clearly not because he has succeeded on the big stage, he has games where he's BOG but he's mostly an off the ball pressure player and will have his bad days just like anyone else. He can have a huge say on the match while only picking up 10 -15 possessions.

Comparing our midfield stats to other teams is always going to be folly because we play such a low possesion game style. We dont' flick it around like the pies and crows.

Cotchin hasn't had a 30pos game since round 10 last year against the Saints as an example.

That mighty performance on GF day doesn’t necessarily answer Q over him, he was left completely unguarded as the arrogant crows folded under the Richmond juggernaut
I hope he can step up , he has some really good qualities , here’s hoping for a strong performance v the hawks

There was multiple matches last year where he really showed what he can do for us, he's still very young and still improving. I'm sure in 4 or 5 years time he will be far more consistent at the top level so giving him more experience is the best thing we can do.

He’s a fringe mid for mine, the worry is that our rivals fringe mids are still racking it up , refer Coll and Melb
Means we are carrying players and it’s not sustainable

He seems like a pretty proud bloke maybe Ross getting a few games over him is the rocket he needs to go to the next level

Disappointing first outing but shoulder reco in the off season so not to worried just yet
Just watched the full replay of the JLT game and I think if young Ross performs well again on Saturday night, he’ll get the gong for round one debut ahead of Jack G. Was a pretty impressive performance despite getting caught a couple of times.

If graham doesn’t play as a Tagger I honestly don’t see a spot in the midfield

What’s his purpose?
Ross finds the ball more and is as tough

Will play round 1 ahead of fridge for sure

You could have Graham and Ross

Rosscoe needs to back that up , will get every chance to do so and I expect he will

I like the fridge

I just don’t know where he fits long term into our mix. He can’t tackle properly with that shoulder which was his one great strength and is slow. Doesn’t find a heap of ball and if he’s not running with someone he looks lost. I hope I am wrong!

Expectations on him were always going to be ridiculous after his first 5 games. Unbelievable how silly some of you sound right now

Disagree, if Ross (or Weller) smashes it in the next practice game it wouldnt be crazy to see Graham struggle to make the side vs the cheats.

Im a big Graham fan but there are only so many positions

I doubt it. He’ll get first crack. Some are writing him off for good. He’s borderline best 22, the guy is only like 20? He’s got a whole career ahead of him

I think you are very wrong! Jack G has never had a good run at it because of injuries. And anyone who can play the way he did not only in the Grand Final, but the previous 4-5 weeks, can play the game.
He’ll get back to the level but has missed a heap of the pre-season. People are judging him far too harshly imo.
