Lack or $170k rooks and the great JLT of a few players has forced my hand.
I had Cripps as my highest priced mid but if I go him down to Rocky it means I can fit Duursma, Scrimshaw, Setterfield and Ridley in my team, all of which I think will play round one, some of which a sneaky chance for an 80.

Still not sure on R2, Jacobs currently but Goldy still a chance.

Really think this year has the most options for starting teams in a while.
IMHO the only common players (non rooks) most good teams will have are Williams, Brayshaw, BCrouch, Grundy and Danger.

Got 900k for a D2 and a D6 and then my teams done. Getting Witho and Collins would be boring tho

Cousins and O'meara were ticks tonight and are now locked in to my round 1 team

Worpel looks so good for a second year player, has really improved his tank and expect him to get a ton more minutes in the midfield this season.

Scrimshaw i was doubting would be named for round 1 but looks a lot more likely after the 2 JLT gmes.

For my team yeah, has been in for 99% of the pre season and tonight showed me just what i needed to see. Priced the same as Dusty and i honestly think he will go big this year leading our midfield without Titch. Went at 105 average or something like that last season after the bye, the guy was disrespected by the AFL media massively last year and i think he will surprise a few this year.

Happy to acknowledge it is the 1 player i picked with some bias

Depends on the situation. Last year when people were bringing him in cheap they were hoping for him to be a keeper up forward. Bit more flexibility when he’s cheap at the start of a season as he doesn’t necessarily have to stay long term.. just has to do a job at the minimum with the ceiling obviously being king pig of old.

Also for me.. I’m comparing him to the guys I’d be replacing with him. Crouch and Taranto. Crouch is 100% a keeper with his value but.. is Taranto realistically any less risky than Rocky? The difference being Rocky has been there before and has the potential to be 2nd behind Macrae if Hinkley stops being an arse.

Also thinking about eeking out an extra 270k to upgrade Cousins to Rocky.. that would be ideal if it was with minimal damage elsewhere.
