To be fair the reversed free was soft as ****. The kid has talent and x factor... we need that! Shouldn't be dropped based on that.
That killed our momentum, Nothing wrong with playing hard, but know when to shut the f*#k up. Needed to be taught a lesson.

Why do you think he would be a good wingman?
I think his only position is lock down back pocket

Unlike our current wingmen- gears can actually find the footy.

Sure he's wobbly AF disposing of the damn thing...
but it's a situation where we could (?) be better off getting 25 geary helicopter kicks going our way... rather than 10 slighly better jack sinclair kicks?

Considering the saints have said all oreseason that they were developing Gresham through the middle. I doubt they will leave him in the forward line
They can say what they like, the reality is Gresham is an A grade small forward and an average mid.

He’s a forward who can role through the midfield not the other way around, if Acres and Clark step up he won’t get a look in imo.

You're not wrong about the Essendon melts. Some great stuff going on over there.

So I’m a bit behind but just on Longs omition.

I did notice that Long had around 10 touches in the first half and only a few after that. Someone also said they thought Long looked pretty gassed in the second half. Maybe he’s a bit underdone and that’s why he’s been dropped?

Also, I was at work and have only watched the game in bits. When did the Ben long free kick happen so I can go back and watch it?

Gresh aint a mid- hasn't got the tank. Much better in the forward half.

Ins and Outs since last time

St Kilda INS: Savage, Battle, Wilkie, Kent and Bruce
St Kilda OUTS: Armitage, Pierce, Freeman, Carlisle and Rice
A couple more outs for us being Paton and Long.

The two additional ins being co-GOAT Parker and Dunstan.

All of the following who played last time are available, but haven't been picked for us this week, which suggests we've got a fair bit stronger team this week:

Pierce, Paton, Rice, Armitage, Long

3 of them aren't even in the squad, plus there's Freeman, who's been delisted.

Carlisle the only one we'll miss and his loss is balanced out by regaining Bruce.

Parker an upgrade on what Long was doing then, Kent an upgrade on Paton, Savage an upgrade on Rice, Battle an upgrade on Pierce, Dunstan probably an upgrade in Armo (who was playing HBF), Wilkie hopefully an upgrade on Freeman.

We really had a very weak team in that day.

Mongrel? Whaif we lost the game. How does mongrel help and I bet not one opposition players is going to think long may get me when they go for the ball. I want smart players
Do you actually watch Long at all? His tackles and bumps hurt opposition most of the time a la madman Parker.
If we lost last week, long would be no way near the reason we lost the game.
Our terrible transition defense would of been the reason we lost, if we did. And the reason for that is not enough effort to Chase and get back.
Got sick of counting how many times Suns went coast to coast.

Now if long is out for onfield discipline from last week, well I don't agree with it, but understand if soft as richo wants all the lemmings in the 22 to be soft as too.

Wonder if madman Parker getsdropped if he gives away a 50 or whatever this week. The way he plays it is bound to happen.
Now I wouldn't want that at all but will be interesting.....

Looking more positionally, Dunstan upgrade on Freeman as midfielders. And Wilke, who is actually a defender, has to be better then Dave the half back.
We look much more balanced as a squad than last year and last week.

I won’t be so rude to ask if watch the game. And I said I doubt he was dropped for the free so there you go. It was still stupid. And a long does provide what you said but no opposition player is going to think twice about going for the ball. Hard to take most of the post seriously as its nothing to do with what I said. Soft because they don’t do silly things. Yes right. Richo wants lemmings. Ok.

What I like about selection is that the Dopey Dons dropped a young kid who was actually promising because he's s tall defender - just because they thought the saints had a small forward line - and we just subbed the smaller Long for the taller Acres!

Nice bet Wooja, but wrong!

Ha, Long for Acres; sacrificing length for area* there. Guess you could say it adds a dimension. [emoji38][emoji12]

*(Edit: Thanks Diehard)

Length for Area surely? ;)

People aren't going to like this but it was a good thing Long got dropped. He has to learn that too much aggro is unacceptable. Thought the changes were actually perfect tbh and about as good as we can expect coming off a win.

I think long played the one practice match and had been injured ore season. Probably underdone

So if we lose, we cannot blame it on selection
