It wasn't moronic actually. Dusty in 2017 would have hit that target and we would have gotten a goal from it. It's those types of kicks that are high risk-high reward and only the best players pull it off.

Unfortunately for him at moment he's not playing at his usual level.

It also didn't help that Mav Weller lead away from him. Dusty knows where the ball should be placed and it's still reliant on teammates picking up what he's putting down.

He is playing like one as well. Every time he gets it he tries to pull off some miracle kick or try to take 3 tackers on, bloody banana from 15 out on a slight angle. He is becoming a momentum killer & sometimes just needs to do the team thing.
That banana pissed me off more than anything last night. They scored a goal from the kick in.

Our midfielders so far this season:
  • Dion Prestia - 11 tackles
  • Jack Graham - 11 tackles
  • Kamdyn McIntosh - 9 tackles
  • Trent Cotchin - 5 tackles
  • Kane Lambert - 5 tackles
  • Shane Edwards - 4 tackles
  • Dustin Martin - 0 tackles
Says it all really.
2017 went out and got a personal trainer. We all saw the result. He was out of contract too.
Use too happen alot in our past.
Players putting their best season when uncontracted.
Just saying.

Dusty is a pretty self driven guy, loves playing the game. It’s not as if he’s disinterested, he just doesn’t look right. Not sure what it is.
He looks driven all right.

Playing like Mr Hollywood, looks timid and scared to put the body on the line.

The amount of times he just put the arm out to grab a ball and not use his body was alarming. Doesn't tackle, doesn't chase, looks disinterested.

Needs to get back to basics, win the ball first and the rest will follow, to many people blowing smoke up his ass about how good he is that he seems to look like he's above doing the dirty stuff to win the contest.

reckon he broke his leg in jlt2 and hasn't told anyone
Can’t confirm, but I was told that he auctully has a crack in the knee, hurt himself sometime during the preseason and most definitely not even close to 100%. If true might explain why he’s been a bit average.

He isn't injured and he beat those taggers in 2017 had 40 disposals 2 goals v Nick Robertson, he even beat Greenwood last year before the Prelim, he just isn't in same mind frame he not chasing or tackling like he did in 2017, look at the Geelong final 7 tackles he plays he's best when does this sort of stuff.

Contracts don't mean anything these days if he continues on this slide, I have no doubt club will start asking questions..

Would not susprise me in the slightest if he is carrying that injury and he did it against Melbourne in Shepp when we all thought he did an ACL.
