My 2 cents, throw Gibbons and Ed in the middle, bring in Stocker in the back for his first game and to get the feel of the game as it is gold coast. Fisher and Garlett as Small Forwards. Polson dropped, LOB dropped...Cunners if available we need speed. Hopeing Kruz comes back soon, but if its heart related then forget about it, wont be seeing him a while ..Lobbe to go if Kruz comes in. Kennedy in my opinion is too too slow looks slow motion when he runs, good for wet weather football as an extractor if its wet then no worries. Jsos for plowman the backline is clearly not working correctly with marchy, plow and weiters....Plowman being the weakest link.....Weiters and Jones are starting to gel together in the backline....levi stays till Charlie comes back and is excellent for splitting the packs, has a presence pus the opposition on notice if he is around.....we just need the right crumbers around him...

So why the hell did we throw away out first round pick to Adelaide? A bloody disaster in waiting If I've ever seen one.
We really need a win this week. A loss and can't see winning a game until round ten against North.

Can't see us winning this one. Gold Coast have taken it up a notch this season and are playing more direct and daring football. Their speed and spread from the contest will be difficult to handle.
Geez this is bleak. It’s the reverse mozz?

? This comment makes no sense to me. We used one pick and turned it into a player we rated top 6 and is developing already and still have another pick this year which will probably be used on a gun player. How is that a disaster?

We're not an awful team, by any means. But the lack of speed and precise ball movement just makes it really difficult to win games of football. We're too easy to play against right now.

I think we'll win games if we can get 20/22 of our best players on the field. That means Williamson, Cuningham, Kreuzer and Charlie are severely needed.

Between 2000 & 2015 I nearly gave up on the club I have supported for over 50 years. Had enough and saw no future.

It's different now. There is a process and there is talent and a great culture. Improvement was never going to happen over night. The club knows it will take time but we are definitely on the right path

This year was always and is a development year

I think it’s turned into a development year due to injuries. If we had a good run with injuries we would be playing finals.

This side isn’t a development side, any more so than all sides have dev players:

Doc Jones Simmo
Thomas Weiters Newman

Kreuzer Crippa Murph
Eddie Walsh Kennedy

McGovern CC Cunners
SPS McKay Fish

Marchy Willo Dow Jack/Plow

As you’ve said injuries have made it a dev year. Dow should be in and out of the side. LOB should be in twos. Same for Setters. They are al playing. We needed a good run with injuries and haven’t had it.

It's a common theme. Injuries always seem to strike our key players. Wasn't that the reason we bought Russell in?

I thought we had a better chance to beat Sydney then GC given the form of both so far this year, not exactly positive about our chances.

Hope they turn it around but we need more mids getting 20+ touches you can't win games with 100 less possessions, put your curnow/murphy/gibbons into the middle and let the kids play the wings and hff.

If I could I’d pick this to WIN

Thomas Jones Marchbank
Garlett Weitering Newman

Phillips Kennedy Dow
Charlie Cripps Walsh

Cuningham Casboult Curnow
McGovern McKay Murphy

Gibbons Jack Simpson SPS

What would you pick for a loss?😛

Russell was extremely disappointed with our fitness levels and training structures when he arrived. Dealing with a lot of injured and unfit players.

Unfortunately it will take him 12 months and another pre season to get right. Injuries to Williamson Kennedy Macreadie etc are very much seen as a result of poor training standards and structures

It's a disaster from a PR point of view. Because if we finish bottom the media pressure will scrutinize the trade and it will cost the coach's job. That's just reality. We miss out of the first round pick. All we need is Crippa to get injured and the season will turn ugly really quick. You say we'll trade our first round that's all well and good however we'll have to convince the right player to want to come. We urgently need a ready made midfielder to help Cripps.

Agree , we have zero small fwds !!

Ball goes to ground , comes straight back out !!

Ed Curnow kicked more goals from the wing yesterday than our small fwd this season combined !!

I think sometimes our kicking forward is so bad their isn't even a contest to mark just an opposition chest mark.

Yes, we brought Russell in to make sure they were rehabbed properly to reduce risk of re-injury. Hasn't been an issue thus far.

PR disaster? Cost the coach his job?? Bloody Hell.

Why are people always looking at worst case scenarios??? It’s Round 3 and lots of good signs.

We have effectively 2 first round picks for one.

The chicken little approach is tiring

Our injury list so far.
Curnow, Kreuzer, Williamson, Lang, Doc, Pickett, TDK, Phillips, Kennedy, Silvagni, Cunners Macreadie, and now Gov. That's 13 players injured.

Because it's a common theme. We have 13 injuries to key players and kids being forced to play when clearly they're not ready. So where do you think we'll end up finishing?

We got absolutely smashed in the inside ball.

In: Kruezer Kennedy JSOS Fasolo
Out: Lobbe O'Brien Gibbons Polson

Too many variables. I’ve said it along, games into younger players and development.

Wins is not the gauge for success this year. That’s media stuff

The side that played Sydney wasn't actually that young when you look at the numbers. Our Defence have

Unfortunately it's a winning based industry. No way will Bolton keep his job if we don't won more than two games this year.
