Paddy is still only 19yo...doesn't turn 20 until post season.

His breakaway dashes have a fair bit of Dangerfield about them...it may take him a little longer to fully mature, but can we imagine how good he may become once he reaches maturity in 3 or 4 years.

I reckons he'll be a beauty once Jacky Russell gets his fitness up so he can run out a game, and his skill levels improve over time,

You know what. Dangerfield plays at such a high intensity that he kicks a few pies as well. Still one of the best in the AFL. The comparison of the burst of Danger and Dow is not lost on me.

The same thing goes for clubs as goes for the media industry; Cornes didn't imposed himself upon it. He was given a job......so how?

How did someone (more than one) allow this individual to comment on football and pay them for the quality he fronts up with?

How did someone decide that it was Cornes' formula that was missing from their broadcasting? How? Why? Are we really that stupid and deserve this?

I know Walshy is seen as a bit of a freak but to be involved in play at 2-3 teams is crazy freaky.

Dow just isn't fit enough. He's a 2nd year player who's had an interrupted pre-season.
His defensive running is really poor, and his kicking was shocking on the weekend. In an ideal world, we'd be able to cover him and get him a good training block before coming into the team, but currently, despite his fitness (which I think is effecting the quality of his disposals), he's still in our best team.

Don't worry though, he's going to be a gun.

At this stage I think it's Kennedy to complement, rather than replace.

Not sure we can blame fitness on missing the goal 0.43 seconds into the game. Needs to get his schoolmate to teach him how to guide the ball onto the foot.

Is it fatigue or technique? He blazed one at top pace early first quarter. Might be a coachable one with technique at full pace.

It hasn't really 'clicked for Dow/SPS/Fisher or Charlie - yet. Meanwhile young Harry is playing one of the most difficult roles in AFL very very well...lots to look forward to and I bet when Stocker debuts he smashes it. Walsh has the runs on the board as a first year player, would be good if his kicks were as consistent as his presentation and field awareness - and Setterfield is obviously being played whilst not at the level of fitness he would like - development year - so much to look forward really hard to be negative.

During the * saga i asked him if the pro * shite being pushed in many parts of the media was the honest opinion of those presenting it.
He replied , mate , I’ve got a wife & kids and a mortgage ...
Kane Cornes is employed by Craig Hutchison. We all know Hutchy’s history and M.O. Standards , ethics , reality etc mean nothing , it’s strictly clicks and headlines.
Cornes is delivering what he is paid and directed to deliver , it doesn’t matter a jot whether what he sprouts is right or wrong , the more people react the better.
Father Gerard Whateley is another who has taken his 30 pieces of silver to join the stable and leave his journalistic morals at the door and who could forget the shameful performance of Carlton supporting Andy Maher through the * saga.
The Doug Heywood’s of the game are long gone these days , for better or worse ...

I think the weight of expectations has got to Paddy a bit - all the Paddy Wow stuff. He'll be fine. Hope the club is looking after him as a person, because he has all the tools and the right mindset. Just needs more time and confidence. Walsh soaking up media attention will help too. Not worried about him at all.

I made the point that as a membership this club removed their corrupt Board, accepted full responsibility and that Essendon didn’t, and that yet the media and public still continue to troll us about this issue and yet they don’t do this with Essendon.
