Brando might not be the strongest and bravest that you want, but he isn't soft either. Bad at it? Probably. Soft to me describes constant avoidance. Every footballer has to practice discernment else they would all be our injured on a regular basis. It's such a fine line. Give me a game, define each of his at the ball acts and we can discuss the facts of that game. He's not the best, he and not the worst - in my opinion (see I apply the same standards:D)
Saturday was a nightmare of a game from him and if tough man Dimma is true to his word then Brando should be dropped. He was found out mid last year and if anything he’s become softer on the football scale of hardness. On the Moh scale he would be rated as Talcum powder. 😉

Conca has more good traits than Ellis, and right now is better by foot!!

Right now meaning 2019?

Conca had considerably more Clangers than Brando in 2018, but Concs Tackled way more.

I then thought who would I like Brando to be playing like at the moment and came up with Angus Brayshaw maybe. Even Brayshaw had way more Clangers than Brando but off a bit of a higher disposal output - averaged out Brando still had less. Again Brayshaw tackles way more than Brando.

The first teammate I could find that tackled less than Brando in 2018 was Jayden Short. The only other I checked was Grimes (and Conca of course)

Not trying to defend Brando's place in the 22, he really needs to go back to his basics again and get better if he can. But with so many out now, he probably gets a few more games to salvage something, again, if he can.

Ellis has gone 'Back' a few times now and just comes back same same

Watching him against GWS i was frustrated and he was a momentum killer holding onto the ball way too long then attempting kicks which he totally botched up. Turnovers are a killer in todays game and he just turns them over and just doesnt pressure or tackle enough for my liking and i was never a bagger of his but clearly needs a change. as do we

Agree whole-heartedly. But I reckon the brains trust will keep him in this week all the same.

Thats what i mean by more traits, however i would also not take raw stats as gospel as just kicking over 40 or 45m is considered a good kick by CD, so we are not if it hits a target or not sometimes. I just go by eye.

To me stats are a cause to question or confirm what I saw, stats of themselves can be dangerous no matter how correct they are. They have a uniquely valued place in this game when used 'Fit for Purpose'. Sometimes the minds eye only sees what we are conditioned to see.

Even though we should look to offload Brandon Ellis at the end of the year which I think club will be looking to do, We should not just give him away for chips he is a premiership player and played 130 consecutive games in our system he has shown he can play good games 30+ disposals kick goals with a high efficiency I know those games rare but he can be capable of it.

His contract situation and our situation are perfect circumstances for this bloke to do something he’s never done before and be a leader by example on the field.
He knows all the setups he knows all the systems.
Right now, because of the outs he could become a hero of our club with him being able to get to contests and run to make options all he needs is three or four acts of sacrifice and create a couple of things and it will lift the team.
Do I think he can do it....

It’s all there for him to do it, he just has to believe.

Ellis is the new Hunt, you don’t want the ball in his hands.

I’m sure this guy was once a half decent player, not exactly sure though what’s happened to his game, because he’s gone backwards.

You can actually see from his body language that when he’s under pressure he goes to water- he starts taking shorter/quicker steps and his kneck shrinks into his body (similar to a turtle that’s being attacked)

What’s a kneck?
Poetic and perfect description CP.
