Dinny thinking

Steven and White for Kent and Wilkie

I also liked that he picked us to win. Expectation is growing around this group and that is a good thing.

Yeah sure swap White for someone who has performed great each week.
Maybe we could also swap Steele for DOulton Legoland

Lonie frustrates the shit out of me, he keeps getting himself in a position where he could be the match winner ( which most of the team don't ) and then messes it up.
this time last year he couldnt even get a game in the 1s.

He'll kick the match winner soon enough.

Think he has been great this year if every player gave the effort he has this year we would do ok

whats up with seb ross this year - different role?

Strong emphasis on role playing this year which could come into it, but in saying that Ross was on the end of a run-with by Conca on the weekend. Pretty confident he’ll still get big numbers this year, especially with Stuv in the team at full fitness.

Just on young. May need to be brought down a peg or two. Has a very high opinion of himself apparently which isn’t going down well with players

So throw him in the ones. if he kicks 2 to 3 a game he can keep his bloody high opinion.

I don’t see the point in sending Battle forward when he likes won’t be selected in front of Membrey, Bruce, or King as a forward, long term. Keep him in defence to keep gaining experience, since Brown is closing out his career and Carlisle is up in the air at this point.

With respect to 3 tall forwards, the concern is mostly surrounding their lack of mobility, and inability to apply pressure or contest when the ball hits the deck. That wouldn’t be a major issue (if at all) since Bruce is somewhat above average for a KPF in those categories, Membrey certainly is, King too, and then Marshall is reasonably good (if we bring in another ruckman and sit him forward more often). People are acting as if we’d have three Koschitzke’s circa 2011
what about because he might help us win the game?

King is a long way off it, none of battle bruce or membrey are bad once it hits the deck, just look at all the handball goals bruce has set up this year, gresham alone has been on the receiving end of a few.

Also, just because Battle isn't a high draft pick doesn't mean he won't make a great forward. He kicked the most goals in his draft year, he's a dead eye, and he showed more in a handful of games than any other young KPF has for us in a long time.

man we have short memories around here

I agree, other players like Kent, haven't been in a position to impact the game. Lonie has been frustrating the shit out of himself as well, i'm sure.

But isn’t our backline working well at the moment?

Just read that?

I'd be very puzzled if Wilkie were dropped for White.
Only way White comes in this week is if Geary doesnt get up.
Apparently was battling a calf or quad or something like that and was on the bike at 3/4 time to keep it warm so he could get through

That's why we're shit. Don't be too confident, know your place.

Silly comment. If he is pissing off players it’s a bad thing. Pretty sure gresh has plenty of confidence and swagger. Just be sensible about it. That line you keep peddling makes no sense

And if he doesn’t touch it. Good to have confidence. Not good to get team mates offside
if he doesn't touch it, it helps him become more humble.
If Mohammad Ali was Peewee Herman, the "I am the greatest " wouldn't have washed.

Sorry i wasn't commenting on hos proposed changes. I don't want wilkie out either fwiw

Yeah, the fella comes across as a natural leader (didn't he have some kind of mentorship deal going on with younger players at his last club or something?) probably confusing the younger players because technically he's just come in as a draftee, even though he's the same age as Jack Billings, 2 years older than the likes of Ben Long.

I hope the club encourages guys like that to lead. If he's a FIGJAM, let him prove it.

Ledger had a lot of confidence as well. To much for his ability. Didn't help with other players or his career. Nothing worse than a smart arse not following instructions because he thinks he knows or believes he is better.

Sinclair had a very poor game, but his previous two were great so he retains his spot.

I've been warming to dunstan, he does a lot of good in and under work when he's actually on the field, and we don't have anyone to replace him. Armo is gonna have to get it more than 20 times for sandy to get a recall.

Hind is pushing but our back 6 played pretty well, can't see who he replaces, maybe geary to the midfield as mentioned above.

the only real changes I'd like to see are

Joyce for Kent, Battle goes forward.

I'd argue Battle's pressure up forward was as good or better than Kent has been so far this year. Remember all those crunching tackles? He's an enforcer in the Rooke mould except he can also play football.

I also think Marsh will be a very handy player for us and think he will make us better down back or up forward, when he's right to go that is.

edit: If steven's fit he comes in, probably for kent
Would love Hind to get a chance to show what he can do.

Unless that smartarse gets good results. We've got a team a chocablock full of obedient soldiers, we need a bit of a maverick (not in name, but deed) who can give us some X-factor.

Nothing worse than a society repressing all talent in favour of cohesion and obedience.

(Just to premeditate your rebuttal, of course we need a majority of cohesion and obedience or chaos rules, but balance is good, no absolutes)

Of course some need flair but I reckon you wait until you have proven something before you start pissing off team mates. Everyone says Clarke is the best coach and fair enough. He would also be just about the most system based coach.

Who has he pissed off.. Or is it just innuendo due to the way he carries himself on the footy field.
