Just on young. May need to be brought down a peg or two. Has a very high opinion of himself apparently which isn’t going down well with players
Thats an interesting one, was surprised to see him having a crack at Dunstan in the Intra Club which seemed strange. I thought it may have been an old SA rivalry

Would love Hind to get a chance to show what he can do.

One thing Hind showed in the JLT is that he always lowers his eyes going inside 50. It might be nice to have 1 player who actually does it.

Has he been getting a kick in the VFL? Can't say I've been watching

Yeah, the fella comes across as a natural leader (didn't he have some kind of mentorship deal going on with younger players at his last club or something?) probably confusing the younger players because technically he's just come in as a draftee, even though he's the same age as Jack Billings, 2 years older than the likes of Ben Long.

I hope the club encourages guys like that to lead. If he's a FIGJAM, let him prove it.

Yep, instead of punishing him for being a flog, tell him to go and prove it on the field. If he can't get a kick his ego will start to come down to earth pretty quickly. Imagine if Shane Warne had had that reason to keep him from being played. He'd still be waiting.

I think you are both right here. Yes parker is an example of someone showing serious flair within the structure prescribed to him. But he's also only played 3 games. Drafted literally last November.

What about the previous 7 seasons?

Now I think some of this is culture and the leaders of the time. For example Terry Milera showed some serious flair until he was absolutely smashed by roo and found himself in a hole. Never to recover. Now some of that is Milera fault. But roo also wasn't exactly the greatest leader for developing younger players. Which I think richo slowly addressed with him. Roo was just so wired to driving the team to success and having ready made players around him.

I think if parker joined when Milera did the outcome probably remains the same.

The hope is we've turned the corner in that regard and we are exactly like simmo at wce and how he handles the different personalities and understands what each individual needs.
Yeah Parker is just like that.

Really poor post by you Gringo.

Ledger had a lot of confidence as well. To much for his ability. Didn't help with other players or his career. Nothing worse than a smart arse not following instructions because he thinks he knows or believes he is better.

Wayne Carey, Dermott and a heap of others are just awful irritating egotists but could back it up. Let him have a go then decide if he can play or not....then he can be as obnoxious as he wants.

But isn’t our backline working well at the moment?
it is, and it would be robbing from peter to pay paul, but I think Battle's best lies forward.

Either way it's not that big a deal, he will probably be a great backman, and Bruce and Membrey couldn't go back so I guess it makes sense..

Milera had a really soft demeanour too, he was probably not the right temperament for getting criticised. More millennial than Rooey's generation of players.

Who said they are punishing him. Certainly not me and I’m telling the story. Maybe they are doing exactly you say I don’t know why the first port of call is to suggest the club are doing the wrong thing.

You suggested the players and club think he's a w***er so won't go anywhere. You said he needs taking down a peg or two. He looks like he's been doing everything right on field but Kent gets in ahead of him in a role that would suit him better. Faster and more of a pressure game.

In the ruck yeah?? Lol

Agree.

Out: Dunstan Kent
In: Stuv Long/Young

Might as well he's rucking in the forward line

Mid mid play him as a mid , fn over wasting blokes in both half back and half orward flanks

I didn’t suggest that at all. He wasn’t getting a game because his pre season form was ordinary at best. Kent was a traded player playing better so was always in front him. And it’s not like he kicked the door down last week in his first real seconds game.

So if he is a mid which I don’t believe he is unless you mean wing who is out. He is an outside player so him replacing dunstan make clearances even harder.
