I am getting to the point of thinking there are better things to do than read or post in this place as it has become the last few days in particular.
When someone tells me I aren't a good supporter because I speak of respect for the club when there clearly is none shown whatsoever, by a growing number of dissenters. Then it gets close to the line. I am not asking questions it seems. Well I tell you what I question the motives of some that come here.

Unconditional support eh.
40yearblue espoused that philosophy around here for a while too.
* supporters also approve.

It comes down to being part of a very large collection of people with different personalities and journeys. Why do you need everyone to share your own belief?

That’s not what he said [emoji35] stop twisting to suit your negativity

This is the issue, NOT people disagreeing

Newman, Murphy and Casboult need to deliver more. Last week both Newman and Murph had 20+ disposals yet their efficiency was 55% and 59% respectively. Cas had 12 disposals at 58%.

Yes there were worse players but these guys are meant to be seniors and leading the way.

Suns have been playing well so far and usually they start the season well too. They're coming off a couple of close wins and their only loss was by a point.

So despite losing May and Lynch, they are showing good signs. It's about time we step up now.
I think I read a stat somewhere that we are the lowest ranking team for kicking efficiency. Could it be that players aren’t fit enough yet for repeat efforts after chasing tail to be in a good spot to receive the kicks?

Are other teams setting up better defensively causing us to kick to more contests?

Also does it count as an ineffective kick if it’s a long kick that is not marked by one of us? Asking for a friend.

We do seem to go long and play lower possession footy. I suppose with more fitness and confidence and “synergy” once these young lads have played together a bit more we may be able to flick it around and play a bit more keepings off.

I think our disposal efficiency will get better eventually.

It’s also worth noting that Cripps, Walsh, and Dow only went at 64% and Fish at 63% last week.

SPS, Plow, Thomas, Simmo and Jones are the only ones that went above 80%.

Someone tell Bolton there's no point tanking this year. We really dont need to play Casboult if Curnow is back.
Who will give Lobbe a chop out if not for Cas? I don’t want to see H anywhere near a ruck contest, ever. Maybe take a throw in here or there in the F50 but that’s about it.

Charlie is an athlete and mobile. Can play wing/midfield as well.
Do we really want guys like H and Charlie crashing knees with a behemoth like Witts. Solid no from me Soap. Leave the centre bounce crunches to Cas and Lobbe.

I do agree that Levi has his limitations but he is cannon fodder and protection for the now, not for the future.

I know they are playing a contact sport but why risk guys like H as a relief ruck, maybe I’m being too protective. I would hate to see them get injured like that.

Not saying Casboult out at all ABV. I’m all for him playing. I wanted him in. Just saying with Charlie also in we aren’t slow or have a heap of KPP. They can all play IMO

just Further to the tall forward line discussion, does anyone have stats on forward line pressure this year? It was a huge problem for us last year.

Other than the Gov tackle on the Port kid I can’t remember another free kick from tackle inside 50.

Going by Curnow being listed on extended bench rather than on ground - to me suggests he’s slim to none on making it out there

Things will be a little clearer this evening. Expecting them to name both Charlie and Gov, with Gov more likely to drop out of the team on gameday (hamstring tightness, lower risk approach). If they're taking Charlie up to the GC, then he's a serious chance.

I would be surprised if we go in with all of Lobbe, Levi, Harry, Charlie, Gov

Maybe but part of me hopes we do.

Lobbe ruck
Harry Levi Gov up forward and
Charlie on a wing/mid

I see the last selection as Charlie or Jack so I don’t see a lot of difference

Get the rotations right and it could be very dangerous

I’m of the same opinion  I think we all just need a win, pretty tense up in here

As far as big blokes go H, Charles and Gov are very mobile.

Levi is big and cumbersome but I think his marking power gives the oppo coaches a headache. Kicking for goal scares me but field kicking isn’t that bad. He crashes packs with intent and has the frame to go with it.

As our list gets healthier the MC are going to have some very welcome selection headaches.

Agree. Kruezer & TDK back soon as well. Looking forward to the next month of football. Going to be very interesting for us. A number of key players back and we play GCS Bulldogs and Hawks.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we have to move past Kruezer. It’s 4 weeks in and nearly 9 months since his last game. He gets injured getting out of bed! True warrior but too unreliable.
Add ruckman to our list of small forwards and small defender.

Or it's a tax write off taking him to the warmer weather to help with his recovery.

I agree we need to look at a ruck but don’t right off Kruezer just yet. Looks as good as I have seen him and will make a difference to us when he comes in. Still has 2-3 seasons IMO

There’s no doubt he makes a huge difference but we need someone for the long term and way too early to make a call on TDK......ruck is a conundrum for us.
