What you said was this:
... with the bolded being where you blamed Soapy V for what he thought. You want to be a dickhead, don't object when it gets called out.

People are entitled to what they think on this forum, for good or ill. "I disagree," is thoroughly better than accusing someone of a number of things as you do here. Would you object to me calling you a carrion eater, as you've waited until your argument is at it's easiest to make?

As for you 'not having listened to Kane Cornes', it's uncanny how your errors of fact and argumentative shorthand replicate his.

I question pretty much everything. I continue to come back, though, to the same sort of issues that I provided to you last week; Bolton has never had a list of players of an acceptable level of maturity/talent to pull of an AFL level gameplan, and he's one of the key reasons our club's culture has shifted for the better and removing him could be exceedingly detrimental to that process.

You claimed I was saying that posters thinking was influencing the side. Your own quote of my post makes it clear I was saying I hope the side/Club does not have the same thought process. That shows in no way was I saying said poster was influencing the side.

I don't intend to derail this thread responding to the rest of your post. Though I can hand on heart so I have never listened to Kane Cornes. Funnily enough I am not one saying "sack the coach". I am saying give it at least half the season - apparently that is too much for you and over the top. Guess we are not 3-35. We can agree to disagree and move on.

I actively enjoy watching someone squirm when they've been pinned.

Keep spinning, friend. Anything to get you out of trouble. Blame anyone you want, me if you like. Keep beating that drum, see where it gets you.

No, what we need is less people like you that join up just to put the boots in and after a few posts are telling all here what is a good discussion and what isn't, in such a well versed manner.

So saying wait until mid season at the earliest to make a call on the Coach is putting the boot in? Is this a forum for rationale discussion or must everything be seen through the lens of the Club is perfect? Anyway it is a new week - bring on the bulldogs

The biggest worry I have is if we don’t have a win on the board when we inevitably get belted. Bolton has still completely got this group onside as you can see with our effort. the worry is that their trust may wane if all of a sudden we cop a couple of beltings and will still have nothing to show for the season and they can see perceived basket cases in the GC already having three wins.
We have not looked like getting belted so far this season. Dogs this weekend is another genuine WIN opportunity. Hope we can progress from here

I am not spinning at all buddy. Anybody that reads the posts will see you lack basic comprehension skills. I just don't want to get distracted in point scoring and destroy the reading experience for all others. Have a great day!

15 from 70 from old Bolts in his stint at the Blues

Sandy Roberts voice....'what more can you say!'

Sad so many deluded fans in here think 'we are on the right path' and 'time will fix it'.

It won't club is the same rabble its been for the last 20 years

Is it bad to be a little positive about things the morning after? I was gutted yesterday immediately following the game. Like others, I had a child in tears at the end. It wasn’t fun for anyone the way that ended.
But on reflection there’s quite a bit there to like:
  • Our defence looks mainly great – Weiters and Jones are beasts and with Marchy back now and a couple of games under his belt it should only get stronger. They scored 59 points? Defence gets a massive tick IMO.
  • Midfield looked decent at times, i.e. when we moved the ball quickly. The start of the 2nd quarter was particularly noteworthy – getting two goals from quick ball movement from centre clearances. The 6-6-6 is great for our tall forwards just get the ball in there quickly and give them a decent chance! I suppose there are times we may need to hold the ball up based on state of the game. But would love to see us generally transition much more quickly and take the game on a bit more. I get as frustrated as anyone with the tentative chipping of the ball as we go forward.
  • I reckon once we get that first win things will change quickly. Confidence is such a massive thing. When we win and see what worked and how we won the boys will back themselves to keep doing it. The confidence built by the positive reinforcement of a win will hopefully see a snowball effect and away we go...
  • We will also welcome back Kruze and Kennedy to the team to assist with the heavy lifting in the midfield...

Indeed there are some glaring negatives (I’m looking squarely at you decision making and disposal) but the trajectory is definitely trending upwards for the Blues.

I dont care how you try to twist it around.
I am saying that there are times when it looks for all the world like someone has joined this board just to agitate for the sake of agitating.

First time I've seen Jones play live (I think?). He really is rapid. He closes down space so quickly it's unbelievable, a kpd shouldn't move like that.

Forwards have every right to think they're about to take an uncontested mark but then a wild Liam Jones appears to break it up. He's amazing.

Seems like a few posters are enjoying our loss too much, will come back to bite you on the bum.

Please explain.? Getting dragged thru this process and watching us lose so much has become so mind numbingly painful I cannot tell you. I will never accept it. As much as we look like a circus i see a glimmer there. I see something. I feel like we've come to the end of band aids and excuses. We can't do that anymore. Bolts needs this year. That's all there is to it.

I noticed on the telecast after the game that Weitering was talking to the group. During Cripps' interview with Dal Santo they showed the boys and it were all eyes on Weitering. A great sign from the young fella.

He was fantastic yesterday and has been all year, he looked calm nd measured in his address.

Huge chance to win this weekend. My point was virtually every single team gets flogged during a season we just really don’t need ours before we get a win on the board.

Players like Dow who are similar to Dangerfield types, bring other characteristics

A fellow Carlton fan and I were making the observation the other day. In Dangerfield (and also Fyfe, for that matter) you have a guy who is essentially the best player in the league with a serious flaw - he's a poor (short) kick. Danger has no touch whatsoever; but he's mostly realised that, and therefore uses the skill he does have, which is raw power. He runs 15m, fast, and thumps the ball 55+ - so he takes a huge amount of ground, quickly. He's not a surgeon by foot, he's a sledgehammer. He's so strong, actually, that he can put it 50m+ off one step, so he uses the attribute he has.

Dow may need to develop and refine his game in a similar way. He already shows tremendous burst and evasiveness. He takes ground quickly, but his kicking is frankly horrendous. League-worst, really. I am sure it will improve (it cannot get worse) but perhaps part of what he'll need to do is simplify his game and do the thing he can do well, which is eat up metres and kick long to a contest, rather than try to be too clever.

Club needs to progress, but as Carlton supporters we all need to grow up as well - media only pushes this crap because they know we feed off it

Go back and read the gameday thread and this one again and get back to me.

Why do people bring up the last 2 -3 years as though it has a bearing on what we are doing this year?

Did you want him sacked at the end of last year? We were 15 from 66

We all know where we are at, we cut the list severely and hence we were 15 from 66. Last year copping beltings.

This year 0-4 but been competitive and in every game up to 3/4 time or later. The wins will come. We should have won yesterday but we ballsed it up. Move onto next week. The amount of crying over a 0-4 start is bewildering and says a lot about people's actual lack of knowledge of football.
