The only positive tension that I can think of isn't of the appropriate kind to be posting on a football site.

Love is in the air...

Can't agree at all.

Met Mark last week and I was very impressed with him and it wasn't at any football function.

Agree with this. Was part of a mixed group of supporters (around a dozen or so) chatting to him a couple of years ago at a VFL match. Gave everyone a chance to speak, listened, spoke, joked and was very personable.
Seemed like a genuine sort of a fella.

For all his knocks (and I have posted a few) - MLG is the consummate President for the rank and file. He is always ready for a chat, and makes himself available to the crowd at open training sessions, VFL Matches, and other stuff outside of the dining room.

1st Moody's account was hacked and now yours.

Just to clarify. Tension was the general feel, i guess it can be related to just how much we needed the win. The positive stuff was a conversation where names etc could not be heard.

As far as MLG, I was a bit surprised to be honest as I have generally heard good things apart from that and another time. That involved the owner of IKON services who refused to shake MLG hand at a certain function.

Wouldn't matter what game plan we had if you can't execute the basic skills of the game (with an emphasis on our footskills) it will render any game plan impotent .
That is our biggest problem and has been for a good part of 2 decades .
I always come back to the saying make the most of your opportunities and limit your mistakes and you are half way there to being a good football side .
Sadly we are nowhere near that on those points atm .
Footy is a basic game made very complicated by modern day coaches .

This 200%

Probably shouldn't have used Blighty as an example... point taken
I must be starting to suffer from dementia. It dawned me last night who I had in mind. It wasn't MB, bugger me. It was Tim Watson....that makes a whole lot more sense. Thanks for rattling my cage, it made me delve into the cob webs.

I hope there was more to it than that. These kids have hectic schedules with both school and sporting commitments.

He could have had an interview prior to the meeting that went longer than expected.

I reckon we just rated O'brien ahead of him.

Hes on the record as saying that he just misjudged how long it would take to drive there, there was an accident and was stuck in traffic.

Club won't sack Bolts this year... it will severely damage our brand, membership and everyone will be going here they go again.. we're already enough of a laughing stock! The only coach that we could successfully recruit without any backlash from fans and media would be Clarkson! And that'll never happen because he wouldn't do that to Bolton (and Ratten wouldn't either).

But I definitely would not be surprised if the coaching department is completely overhauled significantly and we end up with 3 new assistants who have either been previous coaches or considered next in line...

Mark is a really nice guy as is SOS (Jo is the one you want to stay away from).... you want to talk to an a-hole president then Jeff.K is your man... he was a director at a company I worked for in the 2000s and had the displeasure of having to talk/chat to him a few times... he has his head so far up his clacker that it's coming out of his mouth.

A friend if mine was involved up at GC for the Game function/auction etc. Loved Sticks, champion bloke gave up plenty of his time. One supporter got stuck into him about that miss against the bombers back in the 90s, so much so that sticks left the function. We don't need dickhead supporters like that, no appreciation for all sticks has done for this club.

Parko a funny man and a gentleman as always.

Legudic...the prez, he was unimpressed with. Said he looked down on people and was just a rude pig.

There's something brewing, tension was clear.

Something big happening, couldn't quite hear the details but could tell it was positive.. I know that is vague but though I'd share.

factions and tensions.....who would have thought

Keep Amos!

Cant really comment on whether there are differences between Bolts and SOS.... who cares
As for the questioning of Bolts gameplan. Hmmmm, curious one that. He may be trying to break the mold and do something different that changes the way the game is played to give us a generational advantage while other teams play catch up. Who knows. He has a very solid CV and track record.
I certainly wouldn't be suggesting that the powers that be were asleep at the wheel through the very rigorous selection process for MM's successor
I have worked in many organisations in many cultures/countries. Would be naive to expect everyone to like each other or even understand each other totally.
Diversity of personality, perspective and opinion have always made for stronger, resilient organisations that deliver sustained positive outcomes if the differences are respected and nurtured.
I don't know how rigorous it was, despite Ang Postecoglou being appointed to the coaching selection committee, he had very little input. The decision to appoint Bolton was already made.

Amos is the reason our defence is where it is ….. top flight acquisition.

Was in charge of our defensive 6 in 2017, then took over the mids last year, with all the injuries, yet many wanted him gone.

Would love for him to go back as a mids coach, very good operator

Opinions are like assholes, we all have one, i and a few others are one, but I’ll stick by my opinion. It ain’t working, it won’t work, we need a new system. Bolts IMO doesn’t have a Plan B.

And no, if we had beaten GCS, I’d be happy, but would still be calling for Bolton’s head. If you can’t see that our game plan is flawed, then I can’t help you. Again, it’s just my opinion. Some people should get one and voice it rather than sniping from behind a keyboard.

FWIW, I’ve met both MLG (my work function as a speaker) and SOS (Noosaville), and they’re the right people to have in place at our club.

Sam Walsh has progressed to French Vanilla by the way, but he’s still a bit vanilla.

LOB is my new target. Is he a wasted pick? - help me love the lad. I’m struggling.

Had this same person in my house a couple of years ago. He is about as in the know as what I am, but he is not half the decent bloke I am. No doubt he would like to think he knows stuff because his brother is an AFL player, but alas he doesn't.

Sounds like he suffers from SBBM Syndrome.

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with the game plan? I thought the game plan against Gold Coast was pretty much perfect. We pretty much shut down their run off half back and controlled the game. Execution and skill errors cost us massively, but that isn’t game plan.

And it’s pretty hard to put in place a game plan when you have zero AFL caliber small or medium forwards on your list. No decent ruckman. No real outside runners playing - half back flankers who are either in their 30s and past it, or 19 and struggling.

So yeah, there’s no run, very little pizazz, but that isn’t game plan. It’s the cattle. We’ve got a lot of young talented KP forwards, a backline stacked with athletic, intercept marking talls, and a midfield with young guys who can win contested ball and break lines, but not quite there yet. The game plan that makes most sense with that squad is to slow the game, sit defensively behind the ball, kick long to the talls and force contests. Not sure what else would have any chance of working...

The Hun, The Whisper column...

“IS the lid on an internal power struggle involving the coaching panel of a battling club set to blow? We hear the old guard may be gathering the numbers.”
