Player Watch #7: Liam Baker - Traded to West Coast for pick 14

I'm a huge believer in time at the senior level. The time can vary for players (Kane Lambert comes to mind). But it seems a big thing for a player to get time, then believe they belong at the level. I think belief for Liam has grown alot (from last year) and No doubt he worked hard over the summer. With more time at the level I think we'll see errors in front of goal be minimal....

His disposal is sublime.

Seems to have gone up a level on last season.....I still believe he still has improvement in him, with more time in the seniors. It feels great to keep on saying, another very good pick up by the Tiger recruiters. Here's to many more over the coming years!!...Go Tiges!!

I thought he was limited.
Yet another 'small forward' who served a role and had massive limitations.
I might have been wrong. Time will tell.
I like what he brings.
We simply are not going to be able to keep all these talented kids.
It's a nice problem to have.
Those who said our injuries woudl come as some sort of blessing were 100% correct.

I think reading this now Tugga you can safely say 'time' has spoken. Like you I was not confident he could take that next step. Last night he didnt take one step, he leapt up several. Lost count how many times I was like... "friggin Baker... where did that come from?". He was everywhere... hitting contests hard ...tackling...decision making... execution handball/kicks (both sides) excellent.
Better than Stack imo..

There I said it....

Come at me everyone!!!

He s a huge talent this kid , has improved out of sight with another pre season under the belt adding some real belief to his game and trusting his god given talents. Has those steel trap hands that collect a bobbing ball like he s picking Cherry’s and his kicking is elite , twice on the left foot , he spots up jack with a lace out pass from downtown and then a nice left foot snap straight through in the last Q . A bit like Higgo he’s a midfielder/forward rather than other way around , will elevate his standing on our list and I’m thinking when decisions are made he has much more to offer than butler. I like him ,,,,,a lot

Always liked this kid when he got drafted everybody thought he was a small forward missed the draft and then played wafl for subiaco and did well. His coach in wafl I think it was Schofield said he's been playing in the guts and forward his not a one trick pony small forward.

Dont believe people thought he was too small but more that we had so many smalls that were drafted on the list and we all thought that a bigger inside mid was more of a need at tat pick but the kid is certainly impressing

Loved his game last night.

He has been super impressive recently.

Dual sided, tough, quick, solid defensively, scores goals.

Ticking a lot of boxes currently
