I did the ladder predictor last night. With us not losing a game we finish second and I’ve got Geelong ninth.

I wasn’t trying to get Geelong out of there and was pretty surprised when I saw it. Their draw is a lot harder than ours. It keeps getting said about their run of home games but they’ll need it.

I had Melbourne winning all their games with Freo, Brisbane and Carlton having some losses. Usually depending on home ground advantage.

The other two, along with us, that finished strong were Sydney and Gold Coast.

Second? That would be an incredible result!

Would be poetic justice for us to finish 2nd and Geelol 9th given that would reverse the respective ladder positions after this round -- ladder positions that would be very different if not for the unfair advantage Geelol obtained as a consequence of good bloke Stewart's completely not deliberate hit on Prestia.

thread feels very 2019 like when we just went on a roll post bye. We had a gap (talent wise) on the rest of the comp and a beautifully fitting game plan to make it happen. Neither are present in 2022. Would be a monumental performance to win it from here but you never know

Our draw looks better every time you look at it. How good is getting our eye in at Marvel against North a week before the Freo game. Port will surely be long done by the time we go there. Even with GC, their season is now on the line next week against Collingwood. Had a very tough game this week, either lose next week and its over, or they win and are coming off 2 hard games and are there for the taking. Id actually be filthy if we only go 7-1 from here.

We said this after the west coast close loss last year and then went on to lose to GC, collingwood, saints and draw with the hawks. - different year I know - covid etc

However, we’re almost in an identical position. Could go either way - I think 5-3 or 6-2 more likely to occur which gets us in the finals with other teams playing each other in the 8.

Yep won’t make top 4 now unfortunately.

We all would have said the same thing in 2017, 2019 and 2020 at this point of the season. You never know with this group

I hope you’re right, but right now, I think there’s too much against them. I’ll be very surprised if we make the top 8 if I’m honest. The win this weekend gave me hope and there were moments when Dusty looked like he was finally turning the corner, but with Prestia down for the next couple of weeks, Lambo with his hip issues, umpires being idiots and so forth, I think it’s just going to be too hard.

Surprisingly confident in this, it would mean we get top 4. We played amazing despite the loss with good players coming back. Cats could miss top 4 without Stewart in.
