I said from the start... I hope Harley Reid stays at the Eagles, I would prefer that over him going to a Victorian Rival.

Would I want Harley are Richmond? sure who wouldn't but I am also happy to go to the draft again.
But if he decides to stay & see out the last year of his contract, Richmond won't be available to him in 12 months imo we won't have North 1st round pick to play with.

Personally, i think its the best for Harley to sign and stay until free agency and would get $10 mil for a 5 year extension
then he goes to the cats where he wants to play as a free agent and another massive contract making him a very very Rich man

I think Harley wants to get to Geelong. Just look at how friendly he was with the s players on Sunday,..and as everyone knows, he was a huge Cats supporter growing up.

St Kilda's dream is to have both DKs and Geelong also need a quality and reliable ruckman right now.

Geelong trade SDK (who obviously has enormous upside as a ruckman/key defender) and a 2nd rounder to Stk for Marshall (who will be surplus once they get TDK) and a 1st rounder.

Cats then trade their 2 first rounders and a future 1st for Harley.

I sure would. Basically Dempsey & Lawson for Reid (who could be the best player in the game for a decade) and a high 2nd rounder for Neale.. a guy who has shown very little (apart from one game) and still has enormous question marks as to if he will make it. Personally, I don't think he will.

Jks aside, I think the point is Dempsey and Lawson are already high performing consistent players and Neale is getting there. As you said Reid COULD be the best player for a decade , but he is fairly unproven. He's in no way worth trading three of our young future core players for...

Ok but that's our best wing, our second best rebounding defender (behind a Stewart in the wrong side 30), and despite the criticism literally our only marking key forward. He's also top 10 in the league for tackles in f50 and kicked 5 in one of the most intense games of the season a few weeks back.

Reid is likely to be a generational midfielder but he's one player. He ain't worth losing 3 key best 22 players
