Wonder if this is Docherty’s final year? Oh well enjoy your 0 premierships 🤣🤣😭😭

Should've retired last year after that ACL comeback elimination final game. I feel sad watching him struggling to keep up. Beyond go home 5 stuff he appears pretty decent guy and had a rotten luck in terms of injuries etc. I've also seen some Carlton supporters say he might play on next year to try and get to 200 games. That's just sad.

Met him at Jimboomba Redbacks Under 7s training in his one and only year with us, seemed like a terrific guy.

If he was having a decent year after returning from the ACL last year I could understand it. But the form just isn't there to warrant an extension to next year. He shouldn't even be playing at the senior level.

On resting players - We have seen over the years that is a solid NO, from Fagan. Well Gunston and Rich aside maybe, oh and Oscar this year since he has played reserve grade - what ever, I'm in the fagan camp, if they are fit they play.

However, Fagan always said teams don't win premierships, squads do. We saw that with Darcy Forte for Oscar, Lohman got the prolonged chance for McCarthy, Payne got a good run with Gardner out of action and so on.

I think you have to keep the 'understudies' up to speed, we do that with the Sub position mostly - Bruce, McKenna, Gardnier, McLaughlin, we have even given the big boy a taste in Gallop. It's like Fagan lets them step in and see how deep the water is then benchmarks some stuff and puts them back in reserves to work on that and be 'more' ready when needed.

Even before Jack Payne's injury I would say Harris Andrews was our most important player, can not afford him to go down.

Should we give Darragh Joyce a couple of games in the AFL just in case the worst happens OR do we throw Hippy back in that horrible scenario?

We also can't afford to rest players right now. Losing to the dees and drawing with norf means we are in a real dogfight to stay in the top 4, let alone get top 2.

Freo is 9th and they are 1.5 wins behind us - can't take any game lightly.

Didn't experiment it earlier so I don't think we'll try now in the home stretch - unless it's forced upon us due to some unforeseen injury. In that scenario we'll just get Joyce in if needed and roll the dice.

I really feel for Day — it’s been a tough year for him, first losing his old man and then dealing with that hamstring setback, whilst adjusting to a new club and system. Our forward line definitely functions better with him in it, and the stats now back that up.

That said, I think Big O is a solid replacement. He’ll bring a guaranteed contest up forward, won’t be gassed from rucking full-time, and if he spends around 80% of the game up front, he’s capable of snagging 2-3 goals — especially with his accuracy on set shots.

Oscar the sub?
