The Karen's are offended and angry they can't control what people saySo if Izak has said an offensive word but the person it was directed at was not offended, then what even are we worrying about. Izak your up versus North Melbourne.
If that means you hate paedophiles then I'd say yes.I'm physically repulsed by paedophiles too am I paedophilephobe?

The Dire Straits lyrics were critical of the homophobe depicted in the song.Weirdly I don't think there would be this drama if Dire Straits or King Crimson were playing the AFL grand final.
I obviously disagree with you. People that aren't homophobic don't use homophobic slurs as insults. That sounds simple, but real life isn’t always that black and white. People can say something offensive in anger, ignorance, or immaturity without it meaning they truly hold homophobic beliefs.
That's the well established sanction for his action.Houston should have got longer.
Yeah, you're missing the point entirely re Snoop Dog. It doesn't matter what his views are now, who he supports or what he donates to. The reality is he is being paid millions of dollars on the basis of a persona he built for himself back when he was this misognynistic spliff-smoking homophobe.I'm not sure snoop thought out anything carefully back in the day. I do think he just chases $$$ and saying back then in his environment seemed acceptable to most. It doesn't mean it was and I think he sees that now. He is still kind of trash and just following the $$ though. I don't see him as a saviour of anything but he didn't have to come out publicly and support LGBTQ issues when he did. It seems he gained some friends in the community and a new understanding to go along with it which is great.
Interestingly if you look through his music he uses these slurs very rarely. I only know of two but wouldn't be surprised if there are more. This is dating right back to 1992. If you look at other artists in the same genre in the same period those slurs are absolutely rampant.
As much as I dislike him, people are now in 2025 trying to say he is a known homophobe which just isn't reality.
You made a claim that I thought the two actions should get the same punishment and I demonstrated how you are wrong. I don't see the issue. That's the well established sanction for his action.
The AFL are making shit up on the fly with the arbitrary sanctions. Thugery is worse than words. This is the frame of reference. Not your delusional key mashing, point of view.
Are his biggest songs homophobic? Is he going to perform them at the Grand final?Yeah, you're missing the point entirely re Snoop Dog. It doesn't matter what his views are now, who he supports or what he donates to. The reality is he is being paid millions of dollars on the basis of a persona he built for himself back when he was this misognynistic spliff-smoking homophobe.
Does anyone really believe that people are coming to see the Snoop Dog of the last couple of years? Of course not - the fame and profile that still keeps him relevant and getting multi million dollar gigs like this is built off the person he was, not the person he is now. Hiring him now, is a nod to his past - it's naive or disingenous to think otherwise.
My use of the word nuance wasn't in relation to the manner in which the word was usedThere can be nuance to the use of a word. A friend and I use the p homophobic slur in private quite often. The nuance is that we're taking the piss out of the culture we grew up in - rather than being abusive about homosexuality.
When you're using it to insult someone, you are being abusive about homosexuality. There isn't nuance.
I don't think it says anything about Rankin's views. He might just be using it like a swear word without any real meaning - like any of those insults ending in "head" or "wit." But that doesn't change the reality that you just can't use it without a significant consequence.
Sea Lioning. You made a claim that I thought the two actions should get the same punishment and I demonstrated how you are wrong. I don't see the issue.
Mostyn's burner account?Homophobes never think they are. That's how it works. The word doesn't mean you're scared of it. You're disgusted and physically repulsed by it because you're a homophobe.
When you're not homophobic you don't use homophobic slurs, it's very simple.
Remember when Zinedine Zedane got sent off in a World Cup final for headbutting Marco Materazzi? He has never revealed the words that provoked him, but said it was about his family. That headbutt could've cost him and his country a World Cup.Sledging death to relatives is considered a lesser offence..Case and point.
Interested in knowing how you are certain that being pissed on isn't for you lolThis is an interesting discussion, one that actually deserves some nuance and consideration.
I don't think finding the thought of 2 guys having sex disgusting makes you homophobic - I think treating them differently and negatively as a result, does.
Some people get turned on by pissing on each other, it's not for me, but I couldn't care less what people do in their private lives (provided it doesn't involve kids/animals); if you're a good person, the rest doesn't matter.
I obviously disagree with you. People that aren't homophobic don't use homophobic slurs as insults.
Adam Simpson, however was excellent on 360.
It's offensive because it's being used to demean that group of people - irregardless of if its aimed at someone who is LGBTQI+.Incredibly offensive to a straight person? This confuses me so much.
Everything you sais before this is word salad. The last thing you have said is the only true thing. You are blind to all the issues.I don't see the issue.
