Hideous experience with Ticketek.

After being kicked out, re-queued, kicked out, told every category I went to there were no available tickets, I finally got thrown to GA standing scoreboard end, declined, tried one last time in exasperation and finally some seats popped up all over a span of about half an hour.

I didn't care where they were I just grabbed them and paid with seconds to spare before being jettisoned again.

Anyhow - nosebleed section, second row from the top. Shitfully shitful but small mercies I guess.

I will one day ****ing torch Ticketek. :fire::fire::fire:
Was an absolute sh1tshow the Ticketek site. I had 4 seats lined up in the Riverbank stand, went right through, put card payment details in, got through that, it went to a page telling me my seats and then it all vanished. I thought it was paid, got no confirmation anywhere and then it turned out that the barcodes were still operational so by the time we got back in not knowing if we had the original tickets, the last tickets we could get were don near the Collingwood cheersquad FFS.

Still, when I give them Sh1t and get into verbals, I will tell them my big footy name is Kirky

Usually what happens is that the only tickets you can get are in Section 599 Row ZZ

Then some passive non-fan buys public tickets next week for something to do and hey presto... They've released more seats, so these posers get centre wing, ground level, third row from the front and get to high five Dan Curtin (and they don't know who it was)
This is true. I've been in that boat (the sinking one with a ****ing big hole in it) and my mates have breezed into the best seats in the house three days later!!!

Another one added to the list. Be bigger than the bible shortly.

Still some singles
with the limited tickets left would you think the general public won't have much to choose from or have they set aside tickets of GA?

You would think between our members and theirs, there won't be any public allocation. Very little anyway. They probably set aside 2-3000 GA. That would be it.

It's amazing with the way they allocate tickets (you can't really select your won) that they haven't found a better way to ensure there are no single seats.

AI will have that solved pretty soon you would think.

Any thoughts on how to address the poor clearance numbers at this stage of the season. I'm not even sure why it is happening.
Get RoB to tap to our advantage?

I think Dawsons positioning hurts - and given his umpire contact I dont think standing behind the umpire works - it also seems a dead spot anyway

I guess its an issue where Collingwood get 1st touch and we rebound it. I dont think thats sustainable long term but unless we work harderer for longerer at sticking close - conceding 1st touch might be the way to go

To me it is not such a worry as our game has not been built around a high clearance game style all year.

It is only relevant what our other finalists are doing in this stat that is relevant and how we counter a high clearance game style.

Don't forget that we are still first in post clearance CP and post clearance GB gets which shows we can win it back if it is in dispute after a clearance. That is our strength and we should continue to pay to it.

We have averaged -1.9 differential all year which is 12th lowest (Pies are -1.9 and Hawks are -2.3 and GWS are -2.4). Lions are 3rd with 4.4

I agree that we have dropped off in this stat in the last 10 games (-3.1) and 5 games (-5.2) but so have some of our fellow finalists.

Last 10 games Pies = -3.0 and Hawks = -0.8 and GWS are -0.6. Even Cats are only at 0.2 difference while playing mostly Bottom 9 teams (when they did play someone decent they lost to Giants in Round 18 and Lions in Round 15)

Last 5 games GWS = -5.0 and Pies = -3.4 and Hawks = -2.2. Cats are 2.4 but they haven't played anyone worthwhile in this period.

Lions worry me in this front as they have kept their clearance difference numbers up all year. Suns are also high with the Lions but we shouldn't get to play them (I hope).

They rejected my visa payment 4 times then I twigged and clicked google pay - yep accepted

wtf system is this shit

Not sure why people dont like the seats up the top. Can see the whole play unfold, a whole field view. Used to love watching Eddie Betts lose his opponent and work his magic.

Got 8 seats up the top.

Tip for those who care, security arent allowed to check what is in your coffee Thermos.
Im past 60 with a bad ticker and my brother also past 60 with a metal rod in his back

Row W is gonna suck balls big time but we will be there

It might be worth contacting Adelaide Oval to see if they have any mobility restricted seats set aside for the game.

They might be able to sort something out for you.

Not that I had to today, but before I even jump onto Ticketek I get a Notepad file ready with the following:

List of barcodes I need (one per line)
Ticketek user ID and password (one per line)

Then just copy paste when needed, WAY better than trying to type it all out

Oh and I also try and have a stadium map open on another tab

Confession: I've never known who plays who in subsequent finals rounds or how to work it out

If we lose next Thursday then we play the winner of...?

And if we sail through to the prelim then the teams on our side of the draw who we might face are the loser of Geelong/Brisbane plus the winner of...?

I just figure some team will turn up.
As a maths/stats nerd it's actually quite a beautifully symmetric system. And unlike anything else the AFL has done prior or since, it actually makes logical sense.

The 8 is divided into 2 groups of 4, top 4 and bottom 4.
In both groups 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3.
The loser of the top 1v4 plays the winner of bottom 1v4.
The winner of this then swaps sides to play the winner of the 2v3 side QF, and vice versa.

So if we win, in the prelim we'd get the winner of the other Semi (whoever wins between the loser of Gee v Bris vs the winner of Fre v GC).
If we lose, we play the winner of GWS/Hawks then if we win that, the winner of Gee v Bris.
