We all know Fagan isn't about mass changes, but I'm sure there will be some, thoughts on possible ins/out ?
Mass changes don't help when you don't really have the cattle anyway. It's all about mindset for this mob and they just didn't turn up like they should have. Something in the preparation was obviously not what it has been when we've traveled previously.

I truly think we'll see Oscar. I'm not against it as Day isn't working.

McKenna in, Gallop out ? Go small up forward with Logan and the resting resting ruck as talls ?

Lachie is obviously done, I'd like Bailey to be running through the guts.

My changes

Outs - Neale, Gallop, Day
Ins - Bruce, McKenna, Oscar

Sub - Bruce ( he is our best impact in this possie)

I feel like playing 2 rucks and losing gallop will better balance the side. If and it's always risky, we don't have injuries I'd be pulling the sub mid to late 3rd quarter for oscar.

Outs- Lachie Neale(inj), Sam Day(omit), Levi Ashcroft(omit), Charlie Cameron(inj).

Ins- Bruce Reville, Oscar McInerney, Sam Marshall, Conor McKenna.

Sub- Levi Ashcroft.

Something is up with Charlie, he has been fair all season except for a few spasmodically good games, must be playing injured surely.

Get McKenna and Reville into the 22(Not sub). They add some class and X factor we desperately need at this stage and on top of that they’re fit and ready to go.

Reville in for Neale. McKenna in for Marshall or Levi and whoever survives is sub.

I’d honestly replace Charlie with McKenna but the coaches won’t do that.

No point swapping Day or Gallop out for O or Smith I don’t reckon. We’ll just have to run out the finals with Morris, Day and Gallop and hope for the best. Hopefully Berry is better for the run, Clug, Dunkley, Wash, Rayner and Bailey hit top form for 3 weeks and Zorko, Fletcher and Wilmot are able to get off the chain more than the Cats allowed last night.

Need Lohmann and Ah Chee to find their 2024 finals form quickly as well and if they do the forward structure will look a lot stronger/dangerous.

Out: Marshall and Neale
In: McKenna and Reville (sub)

McKenna forward and Bailey more on ball

Marshall too soft for finals footy. Reville edges out Tunstill on exposed form
I really like these changes, they make sense. The only issue we face though is we can’t afford to go in with a slow side against either the Suns or Fremantle.

I would be much more inclined to go

Out: Neale, Day, Gallop, L. Ashcroft
In: McInerney, McKenna, Reville, Marshall

L. Ashcroft (Sub)

In: McKenna and Reville (sub)

Like the ins but give Levi the sub vest and get McKenna and Reville into the 22 to create scoring opportunities with their disposal.

Watching the VFL I think I think Oscar in for Day might be worth the risk
Agree, you can't play all 3 of O, Day and Fort so Day is the obvious one out, Gallop needs to stay in as at least he is serviceable with his pressure.

Best I have seen the O move this stint in the reserves.

For the first time ever, i don’t hate the idea of 2 rucks. If we bring in Oscar we don’t need Day for ruck backup.
Oscar is big and previously had the ability to take a mark in the forward line. If he stays in F50 he’s a reasonable target to at least contest.

Oscar would no doubt give whatever he has left. This could be it. If he’s fit (enough), emotionally i’d rather send him off with a finals game, than see him quietly exit from the VFL.

I don’t see Fort/Day doing any better than Fort/Oscar would.

I think if you’re picking him you have to be comfortable he’ll make mistakes. It’ll be a question of whether the good outweighs the bad
Christ it was frustrating to watch, but there are some serious learnings in it for him too. He was very good against the Hawks and deserves a crack.

Smith kicked 4.0 and 13 hitouts in the VFL. Anyone up for a hail-mary recall? 😬

If we win the flag from here it would be right up there with last year IMO, last night we looked like the season as a whole had just become too much to bear, mentally and physically drained, massive task for the players, coaches and rehab staff to turn it around.

Still think we are a good chance of reaching the Prelim if we can find anything like our best v Dockers/Suns though.

OUT - Neale, Day, Gallup
IN - the Big O, Mckenna, Reveille

Big O plays FF when he's not rucking - keep Marshall as the SUB

Mckenna has kicked 6 in the last 2 weeks as a pacey HFF

Could also throw Darcy Gardiner up forward

I think the winner of that team could have a let down the following week as well. Not out of the realms of possibility we fall over the line next week
