I don't think I've ever been this excited for a Packers defense. That front 7 is relentless. Even Quay and LVN flying around out there.

Edge is a genuine DPOY candidate.

I haven't watched the game yet, will watch the 40min version later tonight.

But Quay has always flown around, issue was it wasn't always in the right spot.

The fact we got Edge in the second at pick 45 is a genuine steal, the only problem with that means we don't have him on a first round contract and that man is going to be getting paid.

Quay still had a few moments in the wrong spot. also dropped an INT. But still played well. Whole defense played great

heck me, been an enjoyable weekend of football.

Passing offense had a good first half, Jordan spread the ball nicely, I think his first 8 completions went to different receivers. Wicks looked confident with his hands also which could be a massive boost should it continue. Had all sorts of time on most drop backs, typical Packers O-Line, full of no-names but very effective all the same. Third quarter, I felt we kind of lost our way a bit, but JJ does what he does best and ground the D into submission. An amazing trait he has, to get better the longer the game goes. Overall did their job, but could still improve.

Defense... as I said in the game day thread, loved the way we tackled, and how our tackles stuck. They were pretty good one on one, and groups hunting the ball carrier. Run D was excellent considering we lost KC, but obviously the knew we had surplus when the trade happened. Loved how Parsons brought everyone else into the game. We're still very weak on the outside, but that kind of pressure every week will nullify that issue. All the corners have to do is minimise the yards after catch, and we'll do well in most games, cos teams won't have the time to throw deep downfield.

Really happy with the victory, but wanna keep a lid on it. Losing both co-ordinators is tough, and we'll know how good this victory is in a few weeks time. But it was a big statement first up.

Don't forget we still have X on this defence. He limits how teams can throw on us. Added in this new pass rush and the corners can be good enough.

Definitely a smart move by Watson and the Packers. Allows Watson to simply concentrate on getting healthy, if he has any set backs he now doesn't have to worry as much.

He comes back into an offence later this year he already knows and then next year can hopefully take the next step and earn that big contract.

The thought of Watson/Golden/Kraft on the field together is very exciting.

Feel weird after seeing that performance on Monday. I don't even want to say anything. But it felt a little different to even our good teams of 20/21. (Only been a fan since 16 tbf)

Our best defence in ages is 2010 when we won the SB. Matthews (1st team AP) Woodson and Collins (2nd team AP) were absolute studs then we had Raji, Jenkins, Williams playing at a high level. With great support from Pickett, Hawk and Bishop.

The only thing this team is missing is gun corners but I'd say the trenches are much better in this current team which is probably more important and historically where most SB winners have dominated.

The defense is potentially very dominant, and IF they continue to trend upwards, I actually feel its the first time in potentially a long time where the offense has to improve to win a championship. Right now, I'm not convinced we're a real contender until the offense clicks for 4 quarters. Like, we're good, but need to find another level.

Absolutely my friend, his range gives us great flexibility, and can help overcome what we lack. I am supremely confident in the core of our defense, BUT we can't assume everything is going to go to plan for the next 5 months, and we need to have a plan B if X and Micah are both schemed out of a game. Hobbs playing is a good start, but its the corners that are going to have to elevate their play if something goes wrong. THAT is where my own confidence lacks.

THIS, but I'm sure I've said it many times before, the trenches need to have depth. Consistency on every down, having quality rotations. Enagbare and Van Ness can be quality backups, Brooks is good and the front office seems to have a lot of faith in Stackhouse. I really feel, as long as there's no long-term injuries, we could have a truly dominant defense.

Now that we haven't had in almost 30 years... White/Brown/Dotson/Jones is the best DL we will ever see, the stats don't do that foursome justice. Brilliant safety play with consistent pass rush made up for a lack of outside CB talent on that defense too...

I do have faith that guys will step up. Gary, LVN, Walker and Wyatt are all guys who can wreck a game and will have to step up if Micah or X are injured, down or schemed out. I'm also bullish on Williams taking the next step at safety, again helps X.

Agree I don't see this group of corners being able to elevate their play for a stretch of games, here and there maybe but there's going to be rough patches.

Our pass rushing core of Micah, Gary, LVN and Enagbare is very deep. Don't forget Wyatt and Wooden on the line, Wyatt brings a lot of interior pressure.

It's only one game, but the signs are there. Still a lot more of the season to play out.

Matt just gets so conservative with his play calling when we have a lead. He's been like it his whole time here. Last year and the first two weeks again. We've completely annihilated both opponents for the whole game both times, and yet we win by small margins. We never seem to put opponents to the sword unless we ass a pick 6 or something.

Do agree with this to an extent but that was a beat down. Last drive td really is just a score padder.

Havnt even got Jacob’s going fully yet. Will help with Tom and banks back. Bloody hell though it’s only week 2 and I can’t help thinking what this team can do. Havnt seen back to back defensive performances like that I can’t remember. Micah will play more snaps moving forward now also. Reeds injury sucks especially on a great catch that didn’t get rewarded. Love the deep shots to golden even if they didn’t work out. Couldn’t asked for a better first 2 weeks performance wise

I dont even know what to say today. Im not angry at the loss but frustrated. I said it early we looked off and low energy.

Dont get me wrong the Browns D played the best it has in years and i get the feeling they wont play like that again. heaps of pressure, i only remember 1 missed tackle in the open and almost like they were in our huddle saw every play coming.

Playcalling was a mess. almost no deep passes when we lead the league in them. OL couldnt hold up but didnt try and take players out the box. WR room is also banged up i think i saw Bo Melton back at WR today a couple of times.
Golden needs to get his feet on that go. was a good throw and should of been a 98yd TD which would of put the game away. thats when the game fell apart punt then gave up a FG and Loves INT. Jacobs fumble [cant say we got out of jail since there was no clear recovery either way] but wasnt a big punch on the ball. and the blocked FG is flashbacks with the wings not doing their jobs. but O play calling was shit, couldnt get the run game going and D playcalling was also poor. Secondary gave way too much space and pass rush was getting there a step late today.

Couldnt have tried to blow the game any more.

OL copped 2 more injuries with Tom and Banks. also lost Wyatt on the DL and Bullard.
Most penalties we have had in a game since 2010. and 8 on the final 5 drives along with all the miscues.

Need to bounce back @ Dallas get to the bye at 3-1. Suddenly im glad we have the early bye.
Its not the end of the world, its a wake up call. but most would of had us 2-1 right now. just doubt anyone had the Browns as the loss

Was a shit show with penalties today. Over and over. O-line was a mess and as aussiedude said. We didn’t even try spread us out or take any shots.

And for the most part looked like we were gunna get away with it with how incompetent the browns offense is. Not to be.

Hopefully the Dallas defense is what the doctor ordered. Nearly should have seen this coming. Can’t remember who it was but it was someone on defense talking about not losing a game all season. Like mate we’ve played 2 games

Cancel the bye week days off. Way too many issues exposed the last 2 weeks. kept shooting ourselves in to foot the last 2 games, lucky to be 2-1-1.

We are so close to being 4-0 if we had a ST that wasnt f**king useless. but the last 2 weeks we could of lost both. I think we might have been better off to have lost them both so the players and coaching staff start to take accountability.
If you let a FG get blocked once sure it can be a fluke even with a couple of others that were near blocks, but back to back weeks from the edge and its an issue. cost us 2 wins

But we should be 4-0 right now.

I thought our special team issues were over. I was wrong

Just lazy and undisciplined stuff the past two weeks. Assuming it's going to happen.
MLF got the end of half and end of OT mixed up, would have preferred conservative/aggressive rather than other way round.

Love playing in career best. Need the play calling and o-line to improve. Bye comes at a good time in the end.

Bye comes at a good time in the end.
Initially hated the week 5 bye but comes at a good time after how sloppy the last 2 weeks have been + the banged up O Line. Heading over for the Steelers, Panthers and Eagles games so if we can win the next 2 against Cincinnati and Arizona I’d be happy with it. Gonna be frustrating looking at the ‘X-X-1’ all season 🙃
