Now that the new deal has been signed with one more year, our man of steel has a clear mind .
Froggy or Sir Froggy can get back to his opposition defending intercept marking best.
Just saying Froggy was a bit down last week, lift Froggy .

The experienced defender said he is happy to be continuing his career with the Club for at least one more season.

The midfield group torched their defensive teammates last week. Andrews, Lester, Gardiner, Zorko, Wilmot, Starcevich and Fletcher all get MULLIGANS.

The FOOTY GODS said, “Cheesus, Fagan must sacrifice Day and get Reville and Oscar into the team. If he does, we will bless the Lions this weekend.” Fagan had a conversion on the road to the Gabba and so it is that the FOOTY GODS and Cheesus received the burnt offering of a cooked Day and granted the Lions VICTORY OVER THE SUNS. So it is written, “when there are no Days there are no Suns.” Lions by lots.

Cheesus said, “The Lions shall eclipse the Suns.”

I know every village needs an idiot but there's too much competition around here for my liking. I will have to lift....er fall.

This article mentions a book "More of the Kangaroo". I have this book, and is very good regarding the history of Aussie rules in Queensland mostly SEQ.
It is a hard cover glossy book of 1095 pages. I just weighed the book, and it is 5.2kg
.........................................................................................................................

The coach of the other, the Gold Coast Suns’ Damien Hardwick, has billed the match as the biggest in Queensland football history.
So does he reckon Hardwick’s claim stacks up?

Bird chuckles. When Queensland beat Tasmania in 1975, he says, “people thought that pretty big”. Then there was the Lions’ three-peat AFL premierships from 2001-2003.
................
He also wrote or co-wrote several books on the game in his home state, among them: More of the Kangaroo: 150 Years of Australian Football in Queensland – 1866 to 2016.
.............
He is not alone in this ritual – hundreds of punters will cram into the Brisbane German Club, a 143-year-old institution that predates the Gabba.
..............
Boyle will call on all available hands to dish out an express menu in the hour or two before the game, with preparations to serve up to 700 wursts and kranskies, 400 schnitzels, 600 pretzels, 2,500 litres of beer, 30kg of sauerkraut and 100 signature, hulking pork knuckles.

I'm having concerns our season will end in whimper tomorrow night.

Concerns?? More like cause for celebration given it gets us closer to trading picks!!

Hoping Cal and Charlie can really get heavily involved
I did have a fantasy with McKenna in the side possibly as a sub just in case we needed to inject some spark or speed or give us the option to go small up front
Pretty happy with the inclusions all the same.
You watch how hard Gold Coasts small forwards work. None of them are "stars", they're all role players who run and tackle all game long. Same goes for their mids, but some of them are genuine stars.

And then Kingy on First Crack last night pot shotting both Ashcroft boys as one way runners who won't work back defensively. You can add Hughey and Bailey to the joggers list.

Yeah those premiership winning small forwards and midfielders don’t stand a chance against the Suns tomorrow

We agree on one thing then.

I think all the negative nellies focus on what the opposition have or what we don’t have rather than the huge amount of talent we still have in the team.

Sure there are plenty of possible outcomes that are completely realistic involving us coming up short or being belted again but there are still a lot of possible outcomes that include us having a great win

And I do kinda like that we somewhat have our backs against the wall for this one.

People on here are such BABIES.

There's a subset of people who react to any loss like they don't have object permanence - if the players weren't good they get collective amnesia about the collective talents of this group. You can have bad games! They are still very very effective players who made the previous two grand finals!

It doesn't mean it is time to give up and trade the whole team!

I think we are cooked this year for fitness/injury lessons but having a cry and deciding it is time to trade any player who an oppo bigfooty poster 'credibly' associates with oppo club interest because we can get some picks out of it is beyond moronic.

OK I'll give a proper reply.

What we don't have is Charlie from 3 years ago. Charlie is a shadow of his best self. Charlie had very little impact in last years finals, just like he had very little impact on last weekends game, apart from our first goal being a joe the goose out the back goal to Charlie.

We don't have a fit and firing Cal Ah Chee, we have the banged up version this year. Similarly with Lohmann being under done.

We don't have Joe or Eric.

We've got a banged up Berry, as opposed to last year when was in career best form. We've got a banged up McCluggage.
We don't have Neale.

We don't have Payne.

We don't have Answerth.

We're a significantly different side to last year, both in terms or personal and health.

The one thing we have going for us is experience. But last weekends game severely rattled my confidence that, that is enough to get through this weekends game.

Out: half the team
In: half the VFL

Fagan needs to make a statement.

Just because you’re woke doesn’t mean we need to listen to you.

I've seen very little of this on here.

The vast majority on here would prefer for Starcevich, Ah Chee and Neale to stay.

I actually can't think of one poster here who matches your description above.

Doomsday clock is ticking.

Does he have much of a choice otherwise?

I’m referring to to those that ask for half the team to be changed after every loss despite Fages having been our coach for 9 years and it being clear that’s not how he operates. It was just a little joke BT.
