Hello all,

Growing up in New Jersey, USA, I was 9 years old when I first got cable tv in 1981.

In the early days of ESPN, being that they didn't exactly have the capital to pay for tv rights for the NFL or NBA or MLB or NHL or NASL, they showed a constant stream of VFL and CFL games along with Formula 1 and every NASCAR race that wasn't the Daytona 500.

In my mind, seeing the giant pom-poms and the fact it was on all day, I saw Aussie Rules as the biggest sport in the world. NFL was only on Sundays, baseball was only for old people like my uncle who watched all day on WPIX-11, and this was a sport with giant goals and tackling and was the greatest thing I ever saw.

I grew up cheering the Carlton Blues (front runner that I am, also remember they had a movie that showed on Showtime at the same time.) With no internet or newspaper, I assumed they won every year because they won the two years it was on tv all day.

Unfortunately the spigot of VFL/AFL games dried up over the years, but was able to follow it with the internet as the years went on.

Glad to be here.

New here.

Not much to say, I'm just following the pull of navy blue through the fog.

They call me the Blue Wisp.

No grand entrance, no big claims, just a quiet arrival and a curious heart.

I’m here for the stories, the passion, and whatever strange magic binds this club together through heartbreak and hope.

See you in the threads.

Go Blues.
