Annable and Dean will definitely be matched. Patterson most likely too, unless the Suns decide they'd rather have all of Addinsal/Murray/Coulson than just Patterson.

You can't be that stupid to think you will match all at that spot.

Uwland and Patterson are priorities, so well get them anyway, we won't let them go. We can always go into deficit for the others if required

Twomey has them ranked #2, #4, #5 and #8 currently, so why is it so ridiculous that we would bid at #3, #4, #5 and #6?
Where they are ranked by cal and where a bid comes are two different things come draft time
Its his phantom draft you pay more attention to

As expected, according to Cameron this morning Suns will aim to do picks swaps for more points. I still expect to do a deal with Eagles.

FWIW, if Uwland and Patterson bids come at pick 2 and pick 3 (I don't think that will be the case) we need 4193 points.
We got at the moment 3773.

Example of other bids after 10% discount
Addinsall 25 - 531
Murray 40 - 214
Coulson 45 - 135

Is it true that any bid after pick #37 doesn’t require points to match, just a pick available as per the points index sheet? Could effectively get the last 2 for “free”.

It’s also humorous listening to people who think we might not match Patterson because “it might impact our ability to match the others”. If they weren’t academy tied, there is not a club out there who would pass on pick #5 so they could take players at #25, #40 and #41, especially in this draft.

I did not see that. But points are so low after 40 that you can always go into deficit. 54 - 0 points.

Sorry if someone has already posted this type of analysis

I assume we will trade pick 15 and potentially 18 for more points but as it stands
Pick. Points
15. 973
18. 836
24. 621
28. 505
29. 479
36. 317
52. 42

3773 points in total

If Uwland and Patterson go 2 and 5 then we are already in deficit ( 3848 after the 10% discount) but as said above I think we will pick these points up in swaps on the night

The interesting thing for me is how we will get the points needed if we want the other 3 boys, we have 2 x future 2nds ( ours and the Dees) we can trade but not many more options

Thoughts?

For me I think we should be making a very favourable deal with West Coast and maybe even Richmond, as points drop off a cliff after the top 5 or so picks.

Edit: As an example if they were bid on at 5 and 6 the points required after discount is 3106 leaving us with a surplus of 650 points, nice

Last year the points discount was fixed at 197 for any bid from R2 onwards. I can’t find anything online saying if that’s stayed the same for this year but if so, any bid from pick 43 onwards costs 0 points.
