Contracted 2 games in 2026.
Keep in mind, there was a whisper around about a month ago that we were trying to sell one of the Darwin games to a Melbourne side (Richmond I think?) so we would host one Darwin game as the home side and then play there the following week as the away side. That would then allow us to have another home game at Carrara and would presumably break up the long away stretch we have in the first half of the season. So if our opening round game had been correctly scheduled to round 2 and we had traded an away game for a home game with Richmond, then our fixture would've looked like this:

R1 v West Coast @ Perth
R2 v Essendon @ PFS
R3 v Melbourne @ MCG
R4 v Adelaide @ PFS
R5 v North @ Barossa
R6 v Richmond @ PFS
R7 v Sydney @ PFS
R8 v Brisbane @ Gabba
R9 v Bulldogs @ Darwin
R10 v Hawthorn/Richmond @ Darwin
R11 v St Kilda @ Marvel
R12 v Fremantle @ PFS

That feels like a far more palatable schedule than the one we got this year. Five games at Carrara in the first 12 rounds with the Gabba game serving as a 6th opportunity for Gold Coast-based fans to see the Suns play. I'd potentially even try to switch the St Kilda and Fremantle games so the longest time we're away from SEQ is two weeks.

Losing two home games hurts us a fair bit IMO, but I think we can handle one home game being played in Darwin (for now) with the eventual goal of playing all 11 home games at PFS each year.

Noah Anderson
Cornes: "An excellent decision and one I questioned at the time. What a great decision. He was terrific in accepting that responsibility. If you think someone is too young, look at Noah Anderson - a great called from Dimma."
Summary: It's Anderson's job for a while.

He’s taken an opportunity overseas and is being replaced by Andrew Weller coming from cricket Australia
Would that be considered an upgrade for us? I feel like you'd have to be pretty good at your job to be a lead physio at Cricket Australia for 10+ years. Might be a sign of things to come if the rumours about us getting a BBL franchise are true.

the physio and strength and conditioning/performance team would work very closely together.

Whether it is seen as an ā€˜upgrade’ in reputation or not, it will be a new partnership which may take some time to align.

I imagine the assessments and physical requirements of cricket and afl are also very different which. There may be some re-calibration time.

We had a great run with injury last year. Let’s hope we maintain it.

SPREAD OUT THE SUNS

The Suns would prefer to spread their home games more evenly across the 2026 fixture.

Last season Damien Hardwick’s side played just three games on the Gold Coast before Round 16.

Losing Opening Round due to a cyclone was unavoidable, however the Suns still felt they missed an opportunity to capitalise on their historic season by playing so few games in front of local fans while the hype was building.

Part of that had to do with the two home games in Darwin - a partnership the club will reconsider once the current deal ends, given it means playing just nine games on the Gold Coast in the regular season.

The Suns will also once again request hosting a big Victorian club during the July school holidays.

This year the Friday night game against Collingwood was the Suns’ largest drawing home crowd of the season and fourth-highest in club history.

amazing - did you make all these?
Thanks!
Unfortunately don’t have the time and talent too.

I’m a big YouTube guy, it’s awesome creators like these can put this type of content together, before Matt Rowell won the Brownlow there was a big 5 year gap between highlights.

So I’ll take Nick Holman highlights any day
