Kookaburra Sport partners with the Kangaroos

North Melbourne is thrilled to be joining forces with iconic Australian sports manufacturer Kookaburra Sport as the club’s new official apparel partner

North Melbourne is thrilled to be joining forces with iconic Australian sports manufacturer Kookaburra Sport as the club’s new official apparel partner of its AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW teams.

For over 135 years, Kookaburra has been at the heart of the Australian sporting landscape, producing sporting goods and apparel for elite performance.
In 2019, Kookaburra teamed up with Burley Sekem to re-enter the AFL landscape and has been the official apparel partner of the Fremantle Football Club since 2020 under the Sekem brand.

The multi-year agreement is the first of its kind in the AFL for the iconic brand, and will see Kookaburra design and supply on-field and performance apparel for the Kangaroos’ teams, as well as a full supporter wear range for staff, members and fans.

“We’re excited to run out next year proudly displaying the Kookaburra logo across our four programs,” North Melbourne CEO Jen Watt said.

“Given their proven experience across the past five seasons in the AFL under the Sekem brand, we know the product quality will be excellent for our players, but we’re equally looking forward to using the Kookaburra logo to engage new fans in our community.

“Ricky Ponting is one of our club’s greatest ambassadors and given his 40-year partnership with Kookaburra, we believe there is a natural synergy in engaging Australians who are cricket-mad and welcoming them to the Kangaroos.

“As part of the partnership, we’re excited to give away thousands of junior Kookaburra footballs each year, including in our NGA zone in culturally diverse Wyndham. This will help bring North Melbourne and Australian Football into thousands of new homes, using the familiar Kookaburra brand.”

A family-owned business, Kookaburra has evolved into a globally recognised name in sports manufacturing and now brings that legacy to the field with North Melbourne.

Kookaburra Sport Group Managing Director Brett Elliot said the partnership marks an exciting step forward in the company’s expansion and commitment to Australian Football.

“Kookaburra has a long and proud history of supporting Australian sport, and we’re thrilled to bring that same commitment, innovation and performance to the Kangaroos,” Elliot said.

“This partnership is about combining tradition and passion with fresh energy, giving North Melbourne players, staff and supporters apparel they can wear with pride on and off the field.”

As part of the official launch of the partnership, new 2026 apparel is now available and ready to purchase through the Roo Shop

It looks ok, shame they've had to launch with AI images on the store. I'm also a nerd because I went "oooh backpack".

I don't mind the guernsey although it does look a little amateurish around the neck.

The Royal Blue looks a darker than last seasons Puma guernseys and the stripes are wider, the front now looks more blue than white.

Good idea starting new thread.

As I said in the Puma thread, I think my main issue with this gear is I just don't like the 'CHiQ', 'Intrepid, and '13Cabs' logos. They don't 'match' or blend-in with our colours well at all. But sponsorship dollars are always a good thing so it's something I'm sure I'll get used to.

I like the puffer vest.

Guernsey looks good, the neck and arm piping being blue and meshing into a blue stripe will look way better on the players.

Supporters wearing the same colour as the team should be a non-negotiable every year, so tick there.

The oversized white shoulders on the hoodie break it up a bit, its definitely North gear, albeit polyester. I'd love some proper 100% cotton and wool merch.

The hoodie is a shocker, I'll have to stick with my Canterbury hoodie for at least another year :(, but the vest looks great, I'll be getting myself one of those. Don't mind the Rugby top either.

Slowly becoming more and more like soccer shirts. Wont be long til we have a big ugly logo smack bang in the middle of the jumper.

I think they’ve missed a huge trick.

That white kookaburra logo where the 13Cabs would be iconic.

Love the training shorts and the training shirt, as well as the puffer vest.

Chadwiko - the only sponsor that doesn’t match is 13Cabs. The colours of Chiq and intrepid are literally that of Mazda and spirit of tas. The backs don’t change much. The orange of the 13Cabs may aswell be 13cantebury

I think we were fortunate for so long that Mazda was such a colour-neutral logo.

I don't like the solid black box of 'CHiQ' and I very much don't like the orange 13Cabs logo.

This was a 30 second job in Photoshop, but tell me this doesn't look 100% better;
