I think this is much more nuanced than that. After all, this process from start to finish took over 4 months. The example you are postulating wouldn't take 5 minutes to sort.

But as I stated, it's false, and hence is redundant.
Conflict of interest is just such an unusual way to describe a situation where the person who was racially vilified was involved in the sacking of the person doing the vilifying.

He could of course swallow his pride and go into a indeterminate period of celibacy by coming out publicly and distancing himself from his partners remarks and refute any hint of anti-semitism that was implied.

That ain't happening.

Dare all you like. Know a wee bit about Australian defamation law. The answer is..

Saints And Sinners No GIF by Bounce

She could also apologise 🙈

He’s going to throw a fit on social media while his wife is publicly insinuating that he was sacked because the boss was a dirty Jew.

I don’t see how he keeps his job at 5AA.
Can't see how him or his wife get or keep a job anywhere now....

They have completely F'ed themselves now...

Probably have to move to a non AFL state or something now... or Germany... ;)

She needs to get off the socials and he should tell her to before it gets messier. Probably won't though, it can't be easy when your means to making money is all online.

I don’t see how he keeps his job at 5AA.

Your assuming a Murdoch media outlet has principles?

If I was in charge of an increasingly irrelevant am based radio station in a city like Adelaide with flailing ratings and a Murdoch was my boss this would be a wet dream.

Keep him on air as long as you can to milk the controversy would be my mission.

Yep. Once a highly respected former champion and Premiership player/captain of the Club has been sacked in such public circumstances and his partner starts targeting the Chair publicly for their family religious background as Bianca Tredrea did on Instagram yesterday I think we've reached a tipping point.

Koch surely must realise that things are getting way out of hand and it's in the best interests for him and the Club for him to remove himself as a focal point of criticism and resign to provide the clear air that a new coach and football department need to perform.

But as I've learnt over many years, be careful what you wish for when it comes to leadership. A sentiment the renowned philosopher Pete Townshend put best:

Meet the new boss; Same as the old boss.

Whoever the next Chair is they will still be a puppet of our owner - AFL House. And my fear is that there is a real danger that they will use the Tredrea controversy of the past 12 months to exert even greater control over our Board selection processes and decision making dynamics.
In relation to your last sentence I doubt it could be any worse than a Koch led board. He's a narcissist.

Hey!! Be respectful.

One of the greatest coaches we ever had was a car salesman.

I remember Jack's caryard on the corner of Old Port Road and Tapleys Hill Road and he sold new cars. I was specifically referring to a used car salesman from Geelong.

There is one thing that the Kockle Brother doesn't like and that is bad publicity on his stellar image and I kinda get the feeling Tredders is just about to unleash a big can of whoop A$$ on him.

We will see whether Tredders will try and take out Koch or do even more.

It's spicy.

Koch is not a Jew. Not that it should matter.

Regardless of what you think of Koch or Tredrea, for someone to use the religious heritage of another person in a public post as a basis for a personal attack is a despicable act.

Made even worse in the current environment and what we all know about the consequences of religious persecution and rising antisemitism.

Regardless of where the blame falls, that my beloved footy club has become a battlefield for this bs sickens me.
I mean, it isn't entirely irrelevant is it? It raises issues that decisions being made could not be entirely impartial.

This has gotten way out of hand, and it will probably become even more so. Regardless of who is right or wrong here, Koch needs to step down for the good of the club. Let him and Warren fight this out without using our club as the battleground. The club is nobody’s plaything.

If someone’s views are holocaust denial they’re a campaigner and I want to fight them.
Fair enough, I just don't see the point in people getting personal or calling people names. There will always be people with a different view and belief.

The funny thing is it was all dead and buried a week ago. The club had their say, Warren clarified and distanced himself from the comments, it was done and dusted and the club was moving on. Now it seems to be getting worse and worse. Has to be real questions as to the sense of bringing all this back up for a board member who was on the way out anyway.

If the rumour philreich posted on Monday in the Vanillarization thread is true ( I don't believe it). then maybe he will go soon. From his post.

I stress that this is only a rumour at this stage, but a mate just sent me this:

Latest goss from Alberton the rumour I heard from a mate of Tim Ginever's is that King Konk Koch's time might be up... Darren Cahill has been mentioned.

Koch has apparently told the board and people at the club that Cardone is taking over as president from him in the future. Koch had been planning to get onto the AFL Commission for over 12 months, which looks like he was cut off at the knees by Goyder in the last couple of weeks. A Cahill presidency would stem the anger over Tredders removal from the board.

Alas whoever replaces Koch (if he goes) it will be an AFL endorsed candidate. The days when the favourite sons of old Port guns ran the PAFC may be well and truly gone. These days no one is able to put a finger on the process for picking a PAFC Chairman. It would be interesting if someone put the question at an AGM, 'Can the Chairman please explain the process for selecting a Chairman and non elected Board Members? '

Your point about Koch's AFL ambitions is a good one. He has made it known that he has higher aspirations. I would not be surprised if someone like Cardone took over. While Koch would see it as stability many of us would see it as more of the same.

This X Plenty `regardless of who is right or wrong' Koch should step down, but his ginormous ego will get in the way it won't happen, and his feud with Warren Tredrea could evolve into a continuous public bun fight with the club being the ultimate loser.

As for the suggestion Darren Cahill wasn't impressed by the dynamics of the board, if Cahill did say anything along those lines it's not difficult to work out who is responsible for those dynamics!

This is our Footy Club and anyone involved in bringing our club in disrepute should stand down immediately, take your fight elsewhere and let the the era of [PLAYERCARD]Josh Carr[/PLAYERCARD] get some clear air without the distraction of egotistical people.

Stop using the Port Adelaide Football Club as your battle ground for personal attacks.

It's time to step down David Koch.

Has Warren really distanced himself from anything ... I dont really think so,and I dont really think he can without distancing himself from is wifes insta comments. There is a pretty strong correlation between her 'receipts' posts, and the people Warren has on his podcast.
