Spent some quality time talking with the (extremely nice) founder of local BM band Hybrid Nightmares at Billy Hyde Music yesterday. He came over to help my son actually, who was wearing his new Behemoth t-shirt. He mentioned they are hopeful of getting added to the Behemoth gig.

Marduk came up in discussion and here is the interesting thing - there is genuine work going on to bring them here. The issue is coming up with the requisite USD$30k to do so. Fingers crossed, I guess.

Is that the guy in the drum section? I go there a bit, he gave me a shout out for my Psycroptic tshirt and we chatted, talked about Hybrid Nightmares etc, seems like a ripper bloke.

Yeah might be, he is the drummer after all. We were perusing the guitar section.

Dying Fetus were pretty good. I'm not a massive fan but tight band and big turn out. It's just a bit modern digital sounding for me. They're mega professional but when everything is so perfect you may aswell be watching a progressive rock band. Anyway, maybe I'm not the best person to judge. Did really enjoy Praise The Lord at the end.

200 stab wounds were ok for about 10 mins. Sounded like they play a variation of the same riff for the whole set, and the vocals are a bit yelly and weak.

Not the biggest Ensiferum fan but i do go back to some songs. I know they have been here a couple times and am yet to see them so i'll be purchasing a ticket for sure!

Tomorrow night we've got a show I've been sitting on for a while... mainly because my emails were going to the band's spam folder! Better late than never, a great short and sharp set from Elm Street. This is the first show we've release at the Northcote Theatre.
