Fairly concerning comments regarding the difference of professionalism that was let slide at port compared to the crows especially last year.

Well well well how the turn tables.

lost me at "you'll fit in brilliantly here because we love self-insertion" :p

Like all coaches he disliked being questioned

With absolutely no middle ground or nuance.

Would happily grin, chuckle and blubber his way through the usual series of sycophantic softballs from Rucci, Whateley and Sarah Jones, but filthy right up if pressed about anything that was remotely within cooee of a question pressing him on his job security, or why he and his team sh¡t the bed like clockwork in any big game while handsome favourites.

Looking back, it’s increasingly staggering that we gave such a mentally brittle human being the reins and many millions of dollars to serve up what he did.

How could the football committee and board — self-serving as most of them were (Koch and Davies in particular) — possibly review season after season after season after season of this ludicrousness and resolve that ‘yep, another contract and truckload of matches for the serial arsonist is the only way forward’?

You could set your watch to it for ten f—king years!

As the years go by and [PLAYERCARD]Josh Carr[/PLAYERCARD] keeps improving the standards and culture, and Ken Hinkley keeps bumbling on the radio, it’s going to be more and more baffling looking back on Hinkley’s tenure and wondering how he was ever a senior coach, yet alone for 13 years!

[PLAYERCARD]Josh Carr[/PLAYERCARD] is going to be judged extremely harshly to begin with. If we lose even one game next year then there'll be calls for his head and we'll be gaslit into being careful what we wish for, that the grass was greener after all etc.

But really, all it's going to take is one remotely half-decent season for all of the happy clappers to forget who Ken Hinkley even was.

Ken Hinkley joins Fox Footy’s 2026 AFL coverage in special comments role

Needing a break from coaching after 30 consecutive seasons in grassroots or AFL jobs but keen to stay in the game, the former Port Adelaide mentor is joining Fox Footy for 2026.

He follows in the footsteps of West Coast’s Adam Simpson and Sydney’s John Longmire in heading to the station over the past 12 months, but unlike that duo Hinkley will provide special comments at matches.

The 59-year-old is Fox Footy’s big-name recruit for next season, coming on board a week after the departure of Hawthorn champion Dermott Brereton.
🚩 Hinkley, whose analysis will be heard mostly on Adelaide Oval games, is excited to watch matches through a different lens. 🚩
🚩 “I think he’ll be great for viewers and Port Adelaide supporters will get a completely different insight into their football club next year,” Ricciuto said. 🚩
