Have to agree with the general sentiment here.

To not be in attendance for the victim impact statement and then follow it up with what SOS said in a pre-planned fashion strikes me as unwise, to put it mildly.

I can't imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes... Devastating.

But they appear to have chosen all-out denial and delusion as their coping strategy and that serves nobody in the long run.

Edit: I should add that even with that level of delusion, it was a poor decision to make that statement, in terms of their interests and those of their son. Sometimes you just have to shut up. Perhaps SOS isn't used to that concept.

I know, its kind of just the dumb sort of gets to me. I mean, its a situation where you have the ultimate excuse to bat it away, "We are looking at our legal options including appeal at this time and as the matter is therfore potentially still before the courts, it would be inappropriate to say anything more at this time, I am sure you understand."

Which has the rare combination of being both true and irrefutable. But no...
Small thing, but it is still currently before the courts. He hasn't been sentenced. Which is what makes the statement so stupid as it points to a complete lack of contrition. Even if it shouldn't influence the judge, it certainly won't help

Are Carlton supporters not discussing it on their BF board or have I missed it?

I think they've totally disowned the Silvangi's. A few are discussing it on the Scandal thread.
Yep. But most of the focus is on one supporter’s delusional Scandal claim that Carlton is a failed football club. It’s a different world.

Have they disowned the two Premierships he was a part of?

Didn’t think so.

Ironic seeing as I haven’t heard him do an interview about footy for years

Nicks extended for another year.

You can put a line through the Crows being serious contenders for the next two years.

Funny one. Such a great home and away season but the demons of September will be hard to shake now

Not sure why side dialogue about the rest of his family needs to be added into this article

Hell hath no fury like a media suppressed.

Agree.

Perhaps it's for those who don't follow footy or live in Victoria who wouldn't know who he is?

But yeah, not relevant to his crime.
At the end of the day we know it’s click bait. But same time, you’d might as well name Rita and Ben Silvagni (not really).

Considering the media had to withhold his identity for nearly 2 years due to the suppression order as he came from a high profile family, I guess it's not surprising the media would now include who they are & why they were high profile.
