It works out even over two years . South played bottom three teams last year twice .
Probably would have missed finals if they didn’t .
Agree they had a good draw this year. It doesn't even itself out over two years though - it only does that if teams don't improve or change where they come on the ladder. If they do you could have harder teams multiple years. It should be done on previous years ladder - split the comp into three - the bottom sides should all play each other twice, the middle sides play each other twice and the top sides should play each other twice. You get one or two from the other sections to get to your 16 games.

Draw means sweat F.A when injuries, form, attrition, player errors, coaching decisions etc etc all have an impact

No way did Macedon have the 2nd best list/squad in it last year.
The draw is the template, plan accordingly

The league may as well deliver the cup to Tony Clarke now. Get the easiest draw of all time after making a GF and spending truckloads, it’s over

Draw means plenty when you can get all those things and beat sides anyway. You get those things against the top sides and you can't win and miss finals. Get them against poor sides and you get games into young players and still get 4 points. The draw is a joke

Plus could recruit players to play x amount of games if you get a good draw.
I’m not sure why South don’t play Centrals twice as it’s a good revenue for both clubs.

Normally, and I could be wrong but don't club's get a chance to make submissions prior to fixturing?
That particular one I agree, should be a locked in for reasons raised.

I don’t think that’s correct Doona.
Lancefield and Romsey have asked to pay the first game each year and rotate the venue.

All clubs have the opportunity to put in a wish list for the fixture each season won’t always get it though

Hence I prefaced "I could be wrong" ... as I was assuming it was part of the fixturing process

Can confirm they do doona. Certain clubs generally get what they ask for or at least most of what they ask for. Others not so much

All your clubs voted this in, you all wanted south and giants in but all it’s done is bring an uneven draw, and numerous complaints about both supporters

Don’t sook about stuff your club leaders all had control over

The hawks are about to announce a few genuine stars be ready

The draw was uneven before the two new sides came in.
The comments made this year about the fixture have been made every year, it has nothing to do with south and Gisborne

So the draw wasn't uneven in the past? How anyone can think not bringing in the Giants and South was a good thing for the competition is mad. Numerous complaints about both supporters is the first it's been mentioned on here.

Not sure bringing in 3 clubs does that.

Good on him. Testing himself out in a different comp is a good look for the young kid. Dominated this season with minimal credit/talk around him even though he’s only 22 years old.
Youd think gisborne missed out, not knowing where theyll be playing, good on him giving a great country club like rochy a crwck in a good league

Plenty happening in the Riddell District Football Netball League this off-season, with big ins and some huge outs across clubs like Riddell, Wallan, Melton Centrals and more. I’ve put together a full RDFNL signing and departures wrap here: https://localsportsvictoria.com.au/rdfnl-2026-signings — which club do you reckon has improved the most so far?
