Williams did his Achilles and came back the same year. Did his ACL the next year.

So we're now through the period where any time someone says something about Kemp we have an immediate response saying he won't play?

Radio silence on that.

It's great that people have some contacts at the club - I just wish they'd take what is said with a grain of salt and this does apply to the EH situation where the narrative some are pushing makes little to no sense and they're just relentless with it.

The injury the year before Williams ACL wasn't an achilles. He did do one during his time at GWS but his 2022 injury whilst initially suspected as a potential achilles, now seems to be commonly misremembered as being so.

Zac Williams is expected to be sidelined for an extended period with a calf injury.

Friday January 16, 23 and 30.

• The full team will be available for a signing session post training on January 23. A handful of players will be available at the January 16 and 30 sessions.

Saturday February 14 and 21.

• A handful of players will be available for signing following these sessions.

I like cots but if he can't get fit he's in trouble. Right now it's pretty hard to nominate 3 likely delistings at season's end. And the club have shown they'll pay out a contract.

I can see 3 fairly easy delists, 3 who need to step up to avoid a delisting discussion, and 3-4 possible retirements (or tapped and told to find another club if they want to play on). Plus a few others in the 2027 contract expiry group who might be shopped in some capacity.

Not saying he's guaranteed a spot past 2026 even with the contract, but I don't think we'll be in a position where we desperately need to pay him out for a list spot. A lot will ride on the next season from guys like Wilson, Boyd, Fogarty, Young (both), even Charleson and the Campos. I expect plenty of of those guys will do enough for an extension, but not all.

A preseason end of season injury is practically the same as a season ending injury. And it has infected our club for the past years.
2023: Zac Williams get’s injured and misses the season before it starts.
2024: Jack Silvagni get’s injured and misses the season before it starts (Which I argue cost him his job at Carlton)
2025: Nic Newman get’s injured and misses the season before it starts plus Jagga Smith broke his ACL in the first preseason game.
