I feel sorry for Crackers, hopefully the players association covers the bills to help him get better. I can’t imagine how hard it would be as a big fella at his age trying to learn to walk again.

On a side note ‘Crackers’ is a great nickname, and a term that has sadly slipped from the vernacular.

Agree... my 63 year old work colleague calls me "knackers", that's as close I got to simpler times.

I met Crackers as a 10 year old after the 78 GF loss.

He was sitting with his Mrs at a fast food chain having his dinner.

My mum said go over and get his autograph but be polite and say that I was sorry he didn’t get to play today.

I went over and did what I was told and he was fantastic; told me not to worry we’d be back there soon enough and signed my book. The only thing he got wrong was that it took us another 18 years to get back there.

Crackers could have told me to go away seeing the disaster that was his suspension and the loss of that day, but he didn’t and took the time.

Nearly 50 years later I still remember that moment.

Hope it all turns out well and sheesh your just up the road!

Yes hope it all goes well for him.
Just on his nickname. I recall walking out of the MCG after we’d won the GF in ‘77 and North supporters were , understandably, happy , boisterous and jubilant and this guy, very obviously an MCC member ,and perhaps a few too many sherries, called out sarcastically in his private school educated plummy voice :” oh yes, thanks to Barassi, Alves and Crackers” I laughed because it sounded so weird coming from that voice.

Not sure where else to share this but I’ve done a small compilation of my favourite portrait flicks from 2025 - hard to choose from tens of thousands across four programs! 📸

Hope you’ve enjoyed and thanks to everyone for your support. 💙🤍

We couldn't survive here without you Madd's. We are privileged to have you !

Your work has been outstanding Maddie and I hope your contributions to (and on behalf of) North are seeing you rewarded in some way. Thanks for everything you’ve provided us viewers and fans. 👏👏👏

Unless and until we show we can defend consistently and only give up 100+ rarely then takes like that one will remain fair. It is on Clarko and his coaches to figure out the best way to use what we have. It is on the players to improve their athletic levels, mental fortitude and technique. As a minimum they need to be ultra fit, run all day and never drop their heads. That alone would yield some defensive improvement.

If we can stop gifting three to four goals a game through stupid decisions and insipid skills we are winning 11 games this year.
