Littler pulled off another masterclass in scoring. He didn't even need his doubles to be immaculate as he was finishing legs off with 3 opportunities to exit.

This kid is going to keep breaking people's resolve year after year like Phil Taylor did.

What’s up with Van Veen, was so good yesterday
He started well enough but once Luke gets on a roll there's a real sense of defeatism from his opponent.

You need to win the first couple of sets, make basically no mistakes on doubles early and hope you can put the pressure back on him. Van Veen failed in sets 2 and 3 where he had a chance to do that. After that he was just not having a good time.

Littler lost the opening set in his SF and again in the Final before going nuts and winning every remaining set en route to a couple of onslaughts.

This was so far my favourite tournament of all time, highlighted by the Kenyan travelling overseas for the first time in his life before coming back from two sets down, twice miscalculating, fending off a wasp, and leaving a name for himself on the world stage.

Premier League:

Anyone want to have a crack at who will take part in this year's comp?

I'll hazard a guess at:

  • Littler
  • Humphries
  • Van Veen
  • MVG
  • Price
  • Anderson
  • Rock
  • Searle

Averaged over 100 I think, so not like he was playing badly. Just down a bit from what he'd been doing for some of the champs.

Reckon that's about right. Searle had a good champs, but is probably a little early. Bunting's form over the last year hasn't been to his normal standard but he's stlll got a decent ranking and is popular amongst the great unwashed, so he'll get the nod probably, but Clayton is more deserving I think.

With Kim Huybrechts not being the power he once was, Kevin Doets partner has stepped up to the plate
You might have to explain that one...

You might have to explain that one...
Huybrechts wife is one of the better WAGs on the tour. As his form has tapered off, Mrs Huybrechts has made fewer appearances. On the weekend at the German masters Doets partner made regular appearances on the screen. She too is quite attractive

Ah. Couldn't give a shit about the WAGs, so that explains it.

Littler's behaviour last week... A sign that winning too easy is going to his head? Probably the average English punter will love it. Never saw what Van Veen was initially upset about, but Littler's carry on after that was ordinary. English players already have a huge advantage given the amount of tournaments played on home soil, his decision to pull out of the German Masters makes it look like he was worried about copping it.
