I find the bigger problem is finding two rookies that have made enough money by the time he drops to say 600k at say round 6.

If you have two rookies flying and making cash they are likely the last ones you want to trade out. With that said 700k is a lot to pay up

700k is a lot but if his ownership is under 20%, he’s coming onboard.

On the ruck line you get left behind if you don’t have the top guys

Midfield it doesn’t matter nearly as much with Ubers until your complete around the byes and at that point you can sideswap if you really need to

How does it not matter?

Outside of Butters Bont had 10+ points on M3-M5 all of which hadn't scored over 115+ in their career

You are either paying top price for Brayshaw/Dawson which is also a waste of money or you are going Bont as every single other relevant mid bar Serong also have the early bye

Rather avoid bye players but if they have a bye then they better play for Gold Coast due to their easy fixture. Personally I'm targeting Bont around rounds 8-9 after he's played Hawthorn & Geelong in round 5 and 6.

Both clubs are pretty good at shutting him down in comparison to his average.

Brisbane in R0 are the only team in the comp who have kept him under 100 twice (99 + 89) in the last 5 times he played them however that score is out of his cycle before you can get him

You left out Bont's 63 against Hawthorn in 2024 elim final which was his 2nd most recent game against Hawthorn.

Regardless, he is not worth $700k given with the early bye and potential to drop 100ish scores 2 rounds in a row in 5/6

Finals are different games all together

By this logic no one should pick Butters as he had 41 72 and 53 in 2024 finals after averaging 120 for the year

Set and forget rucks will average say 250 points a game.

Mids once complete say 920

Teams are starting set and forget rucks so specifically on that line of you don’t have them your giving up whatever ppg you are under that amount.

With mids no one is starting complete. And most teams will be hoping to score 800 ish from their mids

To make a premium pick worth it all they need is a 110 average and they would be a top 8 mid (or there abouts last year a 112 avg was 8th) but giving up 1-2 ppg say 22-50 points) isn’t a huge deal given there are no perfect teams. And flex takes out a down game or two

That 100-150k difference from Bont to another relevant mid is worth 15-20ppg but with finding value closer to 40ppg

So say you get Bont at the byes at goat value your about 400 points in front by chasing value
