Nah, you're in the Jacinta Allen thread on SRP bootlicking there too. You're a Labor stooge.

State needs billions spent on upgrading firefighting equipment and we've known this for years. This is very relevant to what is going on now.

Communities are more at risk thanks to one abysmal group of grifters in Spring Street not giving two shits about rural Victorians.
And what you will find in my comments in that thread was the cha need equiptment at elite standard and cha voluntteers should be paid for active duty.

You are being a little disingenuous arent you, insuppose you need to be with a straw... care to add to my comment, or you dont agree with my view

Yeah, and in true Labor fashion you say tax people more to pay for it. Like the state isn't already the highest taxed state in the country.

CFA volunteers don't want to be paid, they just wanted the pig Marshall and the union to stay out of their business.

You are truly a liar. I said there are only two options, increase taxes or redistribute other expenditure.

You need to lie to win what?

Little straws that politicise... if you were a man of character, you would acknowledge that is what i said..

It's not a lie when you said it. You said tax is one to pay for it, so that's literally one of your suggestions to pay for it :drunk:

Yes it was dh, and what is the other i suggested. I guess with a straw you can not acknowledge truth... go on copy paste what i said.

Remember, you dont hold a hose, keyboard hero

Explain your logic, you sound like you are in mums bdrm with your allocated inet time... see two can play at childishness... grow up

You're the one triggered by anyone criticising the poor state of the CFA thanks to abysmal Government policies and funding.

Maybe you need to take your own advice and grow the **** up.

So don't give me this bullshit that now isn't the time, it's exactly the time to be making noise about a Government expecting the volunteers to be fighting all these fires with outdated equipment. It puts their lives at risk and it puts the communities lives at risk.

Plenty of people have been making noise about this for years now. We aren't going to stop now just because people like you have whinge about it.

Tangents.

Do you have any evidence that i havent supported cfa volunteer resourcing for decades... no you dont.

Dont give me your bs about lives and safety... its all about inet politics for you. have you directly supported fire management responses. Have you been at a fire front, have you been in fire situations where people have died...stffu

Its not the time... houses are burning

You're doing a nice job running cover for the Government.

You're clueless, it's not about politics.

It's all about Rural v City for me. So, a massive fail on your behalf.

This is what happens when you inject yourself into something that wasn't directed at you.

Or did you miss two people not from Melbourne talking about non-Melbourne things?

The answer to that is, yes.

Its not the time... houses are burning

It is the time.

Budget Details
  • CFA Funding Decreases: Government grants to the CFA have reportedly fallen, from $351.6 million in 2020-21 to $339.5 million in the last financial year, with a further cut in the current financial year. The CFA's 2025-26 budget is projected to be around $328 million, down from $370 million in 2023-24.
  • FRV Funding Increases: In contrast, Fire Rescue Victoria (which primarily serves urban areas) received a budget increase of $192 million (22%) in one recent financial year.

Looking after the city once again, screwing over the rural again.

No, i get triggered by clickheads, with little straws that politicise a disaster. Thats you.
Well the governments haven't listened to the country folk screaming that burns off, fuel reduction and better fire equipment are needed in between disasters so maybe they'll listen during the disaster.

A poor soul has been found burnt to death 100m from their car in Longwood. Few details available, the quote below is from the ABC site.

'Victoria Police say the remains of a person have been found in the bushfire-ravaged Longwood area, near the central Victorian town of Seymour.

Police say human remains were found about 100 metres away from a vehicle on a stretch of road that became accessible this afternoon.'

"Police were able to access a fire-affected stretch off Yarck Road at Gobur this afternoon.

"The person is yet to be formally identified.

"Police will prepare a report for the coroner."'

CFA Volunteers posted this yesterday. No doubt that fella will be back to criticise them for making it political.

Get rid of the ESFV levy and the doubled land transfer fees and add $20 for everyone who registers a car, boat, caravan etc and use that $$$$ for Emergences services equipment upgrades

Is that the only fatality so far? If so, let's hope it stays that way.

Apparently more people hurt themselves falling off their rooves than being harmed by the fires.

Amazing and thankfully, not more have been killed given the speed and spread.

I think the messaging of leaving early has had a positive impact in terms of lives saved

Our local CFA just ran an information night after the recent fires nearby. They said at the start, no discussion about the government will be allowed. Apart from the usual safety information, and how close it actually was to us. They asked for volunteers as they were working a lot of hours and said whilst most bosses are understanding, some were bustards and demanded attendance especially casual and shift workers. Their facilities were also an eye opener, 23 people and one portaloo donated locally. No showers, toilets or kitchen, have to go home or go to park toilets down the road.
