Why do you think Pyke is no good? Just curious if you think that because of the Crow’s camp? He had nothing to do with them going to that camp. Wasn’t his call in any way. And he was questioning it whilst they were there.

he's the senior coach. its ultimately his decision and if he wasn't comfortable with the camp going ahead there are ways you can mitigate damage for example facilitating the transfer of personal information from the playing group to a third party if you DO have concerns is not good.

but his time at west coast has already gone off in a similar hap-hazard manner. for example he took off mid season. he was heavily involved in some questionnable trades and contract negotiations. something he shouldn't be involved in at all. the pick split trade was a disaster IMO

the appointment of Mini wasn't strategically sound IMO they've taken an inexperienced senior coach and haven't put enough support around him, especially once you consider how bad that list was and has continued to get under the list manager he appointed. that's the one responsible for the banfield debacle.

community football wise. west coast have gone backwards massively. they contribute less which ends up just hurting their ability to draft locally. there's a disconnect between the club and community now, which previously was not there.

dont get me started on the philosophy of trading away the limited experience they did have.

Ross highlighting how lockett, hall were poached from us. That’s the real kicker. That highlights the corruption even before stricter salary cap rules and FA. No one bats an eye to Geelong and their underground deals but soon as we pay more than a players value within the salary structure, we are causing problems for clubs? maybe manage your salary cap better?

I feel like we are damned if we do and damned if we dont. If we don't land a big fish after offering squillions, we are a pathetic, loser club that no one wants to play for. Then if we land a big fish, we overpaid for them and are now a danger to the integrity of the league. It is a joke.

On an aside, I loved Ross pointing out that Lions also landed two free agents: one being the captain of West Coast and the other in the top 3 players at the Bombers. And then on top of that they get one of the best players in the draft for peanuts due to the Northern Academy. Back to back premiers and no one bats an eyelid--get #$%^ed!

When he touches on Neale going to Brisbane. That’s just enough of a shot across the bow that should shut up Fagan and Brisbane.
Yup he knew EXACTLY what Neale left for. Funny how he only has a 'rough' idea of TDK's contract 🤣🤣🤣. Purple was too thick to see thecontradiction of Neale and TDK's contract knowledge by Ross.

The threat of legal action is interesting. Lyon is not some emotional fanboi, he is a hard nosed coach. Saying
1. Andrew raised the issue and others are on board
2. The AFL are aware that legal action is in the offing if they continue down this path
Says to me that there is real resistance from 14 clubs and the AFL better change it.
Lyon called them state zones.
Loved he challenged the recruiting of the Saints saying the PREMIERS got two FA's and then going on to say NBL doesn't allow top 4 to recruit FA's, but Richmond got Lynch, andBrisbane can get two FA's and Annabel for pick 40.

Interesting we payed only 80% in 2025 of SC but had it payed in new contracts by Oct 31st
That mean we had
5% fron 23
5% in 24
25% in 25 ( 20% saved plus can spend and extra 5% over)
Thats 35% of 18.3 mill which equals 6.4 mill of the cap to spend plus another 5% over (915k) to spend in 26
That why Ross was coy when Purple as about going again in 2026 FA.
