uhuh

Pies - prelim finalists
Melbourne - We butchered our way to a loss with shit defence, that's completely on us.
GWS - Finished 5th on the ladder last year and smashed the hawks at Engie stadium in round zero
That was last year.

Sydney finished 1st in 2024 and finished 10th in 2025.
Port Adelaide finished 2nd in 2024 and finished 13th in 2025.

Saying Collingwood were prelim finalists and GWS were 5th last year has no bearing on how good they are in 2026.

I'm just saying, all three teams have looked ordinary and I'm concerned. Even winning today, we looked bang average. I hope I'm wrong and we're a finals team, but I don't see it currently.

If the game ended with 3.50 to go, and hell the way the time clock was playing up it could have, we win by nearly 4 goals and we all say an easy win.
As it is because of the work we had done 1st half in the wet and down a rotation, we ran out of gas tickets like the Straight of Hormuz has been shut for 3 months and just couldnt defend anymore.
5 on the bench is fine and the 75 rotations are also fine, but a team is at a disadvantage when a player goes down.

It’s a win team, be happy!
We can stop all that bullshit talk about 0-6 now 🙄
Let's discuss 1-5 😅
Seriously though, it's nice to win a game...but think we need to move on pretty quickly from it. Team maybe still feeling the effects of a virus?

We'll take it.
But, there's a lot of work to do.

I did watch the game but just looking at the stats. Is something up with phillipou? 8 touches for the game seem shite
Didn't he have a quad? Maybe a bit restricted? Hasn't been in great form, a bit like Sharman but he needs game time. I feel he is worth persisting with for a while.

Desperately needed win but it felt like we put the cue in the rack and played the clock from halfway through the second term onwards. Like the whole team felt the 7 goal run we had was enough. I mean I guess they were right but id rather not be winning games like that lol

A shame that the game got very defensive for the whole second half, Wilson was on track for a blinder when it was attacking.

Got an away win in the end so you just have to bank it and move on, hopefully once everyone gels and is a bit fitter we can score more than 3 goals in a half in tough conditions.

A developing midfield played a very good first half and then tired. Against a team that still had a lot of talent out there. When we tire we lose structure but I guess that is to be expected.

Playing games and the repetition of learning. Going to enjoy the journey. A good Saints contingent of fans. Very spread out so might not have seemed it but were in good voice.

3 times i've been to Engie Stadium for 3 wins. I'll take that!

so many thoughts. Firstly, I am willing to give both teams a slight pass due to the nature of the conditions, the 60 minute delay. If it was just us then I would be more critical but it was quite obviously effecting both sides. I do think the decision making was genreally better too.

Obviously first half, very nice. Second half turned to poo. I get the tired legs, and even some of the skills. It is the intention though that is frustrating. There was a 10-15 minute patch in the third where we kicked out and went to the same spot where Tauru and Owens kept undershooting the ball.
We are crying out for a big body in the midfield. Without Mcrae and Steele going we don't have the lynchpin.
Naz is just starting the journey, Flanders is too small, Pou not ready yet. I would lvoe some more Box time as he tackles hard, as we know does Owwens as well.

I think maybe in hindsite we wouldnt have signed Mcrae and just kept Steele. We also desperately miss Jimmy Webster.

A couple things
I am really glad Ross kept Tauru up forward for the whole game even when hammer went down.
He'ss show a sign here or there but eventually I thnk he will explode. That mark was gorgeous as was another of his courageous efforts.

I think Hugo has been one of the stronger performers this year and toay I though he was one of our best. He is becoming a little bit slippery and his decision making is improving.

In a game like today second third fourth efforts even after mistakes count as much as goals.
A couple time the Box mucked up but imediately made amennds.

Wilson electric, one of the best halves we have seen from him. In the second half maybe he got some more attentin, maybe it is simply consistency, regardless once he puts it together.

Much better game from Flanders today but still not enough imo.

TDK also good but those set shots were not good enough.

I said it earlier. I love Pou and IK I am biased, but what is the point of having him and Viking play a half each. Basiclly a man down. He started off ok and then dropped off.

Ultimately, it was one of those games, shit conditions, crap circumstances and just get it done. Back at the dome next week should be fun.
I've noticed TDK dropping some pretty easy cheat marks over the past couple of games...by the way he kicks, I'm not sure he'll ever be a good set shot. Regardless, we're better with him and we, get a lot better access now in the middle because of him, he follows up well and is a battering ram at every contest.

Welcome back Liam Stocker! Was tough, clean, calm and helped settle our backline. Was okay early, but zero chance we hold up against 40+ second half entires without him.

We also look much better with Tauru forward.

Can talk all the sport science and gameplan in the world. But as 80% of supporters have been saying, Stocker in, and Tauru forward, just makes sense for team balance.

Can genuinely make an arguement we would be 3-0 if we had just done this from the jump.

Great to win, though in each of the three games so far, we have let the opposition get back into the game in the third quarter where we seem to go defensive too early. Other than that, we need to organize that forward half better, as we won't be kicking any kind of large scores the way we're going.

Won 400 bucks on this thank you boys and Jesse hogan for kicking that 2nd goal in the last minute

We are seriously an unfit team. Not sure what the club is going on about, but in the 3 games I've watched we have gassed hard compared to our opponents
Nope whole side has been smashed by the bug
