Remember when contracted Marshall wanted to go to the Cats?
Remember our response? Max is four years younger.
Can ask all he wants. Dont sign the contract. Same with Wilkie, same with Merrett.
Its bullshit anyway. We would get worse than Mackie offered for Roh, and we would have no kp forward.
Absolute poppycock from slimy pr1ck Morris.
Sorry mate but we need to get used to the fact he's gone. Not sure if you've heard but someone close to him suggested he should seek a trade. So you can pretty much lock it in.

We should be celebrating though, I read on here it's the worst contract in the history of the game. Will be great to get it off the books.

Did it with Jack Steven!

But Jack was a basket case at the time and did zilch for Geelong. No point in trading Max unless we thought he was cooked and another team would take on his contract (a big fat zero chance of that!). We would get a pick in the thousands for him right now haha.

Who’s decision was it to attempt to fully repair the meniscus last year with a low success rate ?
If it was King - that’s on him.
If it was the club and he didn’t want it, I can understand if he is a bit annoyed.

Anywho, let’s hope he is close and it’s all behind him now!
Interesting point I doubt it was the clubs decision. The reason they would have tried to repair it is to avoid the potential for osteoarthritis down the line and a knee replacement

Jack was right at the end of his career and was mentally shot.
We did it basically as a thank you for what he gave to the club.
And you know what? He played one fairly ordinary season for the Cats if I remember correctly.

I just reckon if he was that adamant about leaving we should have just offered to tear up existing contract and let him take his chances in the marketplace!

I think we showed him some loyalty after carrying the team pretty much unrewarded for his whole career.
I had no problem doing that at all.

Marshall, at that stage last year, still had a good few years left in him, and we still needed him. Coupled with an insulting offer and no desire to help the opposition, I think the club did the right thing this time too.

Marshall at the Cats would’ve made a much bigger difference to the team than Stuv did. No need to do them any favours at all.

Well, they did mention they were considering him for short bursts in the Opening Round game had he not suffered the calf issues.
I’ve always been of the opinion that your rolls Royce’s don’t play magoos.

But at this point a few games there is good for him.
