Time to look ahead to our two week stint in Adelaide, starting with the Pear.

Your guess is as good as mine who wins this, but I think we’ll be better of for having the bye to recalibrate after some early season learnings.

Hopefully we get to feed a few injured players back in and sore bodies get rested. Hall, Marshall, Phillipou all looked to be carrying injuries and with 2 weeks to get Sharman back from concussion we should have a decent list to choose from.

Hopefully there is a bit of a psychological boost having Max King starting to motor along too.

Definitely a danger game - Port will be right up for it after their disappointing loss last weekend. This is a must win for our season I think.
Cancelled out because we had an equally disappointing fade out, and our backs are against the wall in the media!

It’s too early to think about this game yet. Feeling like we are back in preseason.

I can’t believe we still have to wait TEN days before our next match. All Easter - no Saints match. Opening round is STUFFED! Wonder what all the GWS supporters will do with no game over Easter? Probably watch NRL. Maybe I’ll have a look as well? Nice one AFL - great strategy. Really worth destroying the opening for rounds of the comp for. 👍

1-3 isn’t too bad considering the draw. Collingwood, GWS and Brisbane are all difficult. Thinking we are good enough to be 3-1 or 4-0 is really wishful thinking, despite the new recruits and close margins.

The bad loss to Melbourne were made up by the GWS win. Now is a chance to reset and get some midfield soldiers back - Macrae, Dow, Henry, Clark. Not all are stars, but will definitely help.

Play Camaniti forward and we should be in a much better space tackling the rest of the season.

Port don’t look like a particularly motivated team atm. No Rozee, we’re fresh and hungry off a bye and beat them here last year.

Horne-Francis always dominates us so need to hold him in check as well as Butters and Georgiades, if we do that it’s a win.

Dow, Henry and Clark were all training today. Macrae just running. King was with the main group for the non contact work. His goal kicking was good, spinning the ball like a Harlem globetrotter.

if we lose to port it’s a disaster. They are currently a basket case. Port people in Adelaide are in mourning and dont expect to do anything this year. They’re just hoping Carr is up to it.
If we lose this you can lock in 1-5. Which would be a mountain to climb.

It feels like a must win game. I don't see it being easy though.

Unfortunately they are a bit backs to the wall with something to prove. It should be a win for us but it really depends which Saints turn up. The one still in bye mode or the well rested ready to start the season again with some positive energy one.

It will be interesting to see how Port go today against the Tigers. They're favourites and it will be an opportunity for them to get some form going. They wouldn't want to be losing that.
