****wit Christian graded it as medium impact??
Wardlaw got up and was able to play on without any issues whatsoever. If that’s not assessed as low impact then they may as well get rid of the low impact level rating. It should get graded correctly at the tribunal to Low Impact.
- Medium Impact: The contact resulted in more than minimal impact. This includes situations where the victim player left the field for a length of time, or where the force was significant enough to cause, or have the potential to cause, injury.
- Low Impact: The incident had minimal impact on the game, and the opposing player was able to continue playing without major, ongoing issues.
Low vs Medium is a moot argument.
Literally the #1 change to tribunal this year...
(A) GRADING IMPACT FOR INTENTIONAL STRIKES
Intentional Strikes to a victim player’s body or head will usually be
classified as Medium Impact at a minimum (resulting in at least a
1-match sanction), rather than the previous grading as Low Impact.
Unless we can argue this is the exception to the rule...

Didn't Ned Long get away with an intentional hit last week that was way off ball?
With any luck the AFL will appeal the decision.Unbelievable.
Knew it would happen but still think that's unjust.
Hayward swings arm albeit late vs a behind the ball unprovoked gut punch (essentially a king hit). Make it make sense.
If the AFL want to stamp out the thug stuff behind the play then come down hard on it.
AFL appeals are left for more serious incidents like Ed and Charlie Curnow making slight contact with an umpireWith any luck the AFL will appeal the decision.

Strange decision
More surprising is people wanting him as an out
He was poor against Melbourne, and truly terrible, along with being undisciplined, against North.
Well picked up ferris - I didn't realise that intentional strikes to the body can now be classified as medium impact even if the physical outcome is of low consequence / impact.Low vs Medium is a moot argument.

I’m shocked that got upheld, but he should have been dropped anyway.

I wonder how consistent this ruling will be applied. Call me cynical, but if it was a player in one of the AFLs favoured teams and they were at risk of missing a grand final, I think they would find a way to let him off.
Barry Hall rule...
