Damn, I missed Hannaford in all of that. I know he was in my mind when I started the opening post, but somehow I missed him. I agree he'll go before Brown does, and thus the 4 options for a midfielder to come in more likely comes down to Brown for Rowsten or Ough. I do agree that Rowsten should be ahead, but if they ever wanted to blood Ough, then a game such as Tigers would be ideal. (Incidentally, given where his family live, a Barossa-based debut probably suits them OK as well, just a 4-hour drive.) Ough is probably a touch stronger tackler than Harry, and his bigger body might be advantageous against the size of Taranto and Hopper. However, I'll admit that it's unlikely, based on what we've seen from Kingers to date.

Brown needs a spell imo. Some of his efforts are putrid.

He had an ACL in 2023 which didn't impact any of those attributes, so I'm sure he'll be back to his best.

I have a been firmly of the belief that we couldn’t play 3 key forward plus 2 rucks and that it was either Riccardi or madden as second ruck/third key forward but are we better off strengthening the tall forwards so we always have 3 on the field and playing Riccardi/cads/hogan as key forwwards and madden switching between forward ruck.

Drop brown/hannaford/delana for Bedford, binga & madden

Gruz - cads
Brown - madden
Stringer - unchanged
Delana - binga
Greene/cogs (unchanged)
Gothard (Jones when fit)

With the speed the ball moves put guys in front of the ball who can mark it.

Judging by comments coming out of the reports and interviews it looks like all of Bedford, Daniels and Cadman are set to play.

I don’t think Riccardi has worked in the ruck but would be a big change to go with a complete diff ruck structure.

He'd be on the bench while not rucking.

We did this recently with Briggs and Riccardi, they only played around 50% game time each.

145%, 109%, 141% & 153% are the combined TOG percentages of Briggs & Riccardi. Safe to say they won’t be splitting it 50/50. If Aleer plays one of them will have to give significant minutes elsewhere on the ground.

It's that 109% game that I was referring to.

I'd see Aleer playing in defence for any time where they were both on the field.

Anyway this is all conjecture, good chance we see Aleer getting dropped once the full teams come out tomorrow and it'll all be moot.
