Part of the problem is the VFL have had precious little game time. They even have a bye this week so how does MC even know if he's in form? How can he make coach-directed adjustments to his game that might get him a call-up?

I know it's all about budgets and travel and whatever but the VFL scheduling is dire. Unprofessional for a billion dollar industry.

It's been awful for years. VFL team just has byes all the time

Wasn't helped this year by the AFLs opening round. I presume the AFLPA forces a bye for the VFL team if the AFL team has a week off

Wonder if Kennedy is far off. Was emergency in a couple of games early in the year that suggested he was close. Like Dolan he is likely to be very raw and not a massive impact early
