One of the best things about what’s happening is that we’re playing a new, faster-ball-movement game plan, the last couple of weeks in particular, and it’s already paying dividends.

The more we do that, the better you’d think we’ll get at it, and hopefully we’ll be able to put Max in front of it soon.

It will be unrecognisable to what he was used to previously.

This …. I’m not sure if it was trained pre season and just didn’t click till the port game or they made adjustments. Since then an admittedly it was more obvious last week, it actually felt enjoyable. Bar the Deez game last year, it had felt like a long time since we’d played well and not just competed. Still so much to work on.

You can get confidence and momentum from a performance like that though. Sometimes you just need an easy kill to really get yourself rolling.

Well I have been skeptical for a long time so this a bit of an awakening.

Accused, along with many others, of holding back our club’s chances of success by refusing to call out our mediocrity. Foolishly supporting the club I’ve followed for 54 years and hoping to enjoy a weekly game of football. And hoping the people in charge know what they’re doing and have us on the right track for success.

Well no more. The “realists” on here were correct.

This morning I said “No More!”

I googled photos of the current team, the coaches and management and I said, very sternly” “you’re mediocre!”

I pulled out my 2026 Membership Card, threw it on the kitchen table and yelled “you’re mediocre!”

I then rang the club and screamed “YOU’RE MEDIOCRE! STOP BEING MEDIOCRE!!!” Of course it went to voicemail but I’m sure someone checked it pregame.

Emotionally exhausted I boarded the V/Line and headed to Marvel. And what did I witness? A marvellous, entertaining win.

To those posters, and you know who you are, I can only say you were right all along.

I will contact the club daily until next weekend and my message will be clear:

“You’re mediocre. Stop being so mediocre. Tell Ross his mediocrity is adding to the general mediocrity of the players. I demand you rid Linton Street of mediocrity and replace it with excellence! It’s the way forward and I can’t believe you guys didn’t realise it (don’t you read Big Footy?)

That should set us up for a big win over the Blues as we charge towards flag number two in 2026

We did play West Coast at home. So at least we won by 100 points

Plenty of standouts but hard to go past the rise of Garcia, love watching him. Pou played his best game for a while, hopefully he can build from here.

Just got back from the game

I told my son he has to come to every game now.

A few observations.

Garcia... told ya so... kidding!... but really, I did.

Carroll was very impressive. Glad they stuck with him. Moved the ball on quickly and got a lot of penetration with his kicks.

I love Brad Hill so very very much.

I don't love Dan Butler... sorry. Has surprisingly little game awareness at times. I think we should move past him.

West Coast are awful. Could easily have won by quite a bit more.

I have a soft spot for Cooper Sharman. He's lost his mojo a bit which was evident early, but willed himself into the game. Good onya Coops.

I like the individual player songs after they score. It works and is fun.

The knock knock thing at the start of the game? Kill it with fire.

Nas is just so damn exciting.

I'm loving what Wilkie and Jsos are building.

Exactly what we needed.

Been good to see Clark quietly moving into good form. Seems more composed than I can remember over the last few years.
Might finally get some luck with his body, because he is a real weapon when he's up and going.

Garcia, Wilson and Owens did a power of work. Work ethics of the youngsters starting to pay off.
