Its so hilarious when a player takes a mark in field play and a player is called to stand. The player with the footy is lets say kicking to 12 o clock on a clock but the player on the mark is standing the mark at 3.00 o clock or 9.00 o clock sometimes. Its just a joke. At least allow the player to stand on the mark in line in which the player is kicking the ball, its just a joke when you see this.Farcical brining these stupid rules in this year.
You have three clubs that are struggling in the bottom 6 and a perfect opportunity for them to rejuvinate quickly before Tassie coming in and the AFL pull the rug out from under them all because of the biggest sooks in the AFL you've ever seen in the Aints who are conflicted beyond belief with their President and his brother being an AFL Commissioner.
Its no wonder tho is it? I saw Greg Swan's presser today, terrible speaker and he couldn't be any more unconvincing if he tried. Completely out of his depth and fits in perfectly with morons such as Dillon and Kane. The rules brought in are a joke. As for the stand rule, all well and good but why do players who have the ball not have to get behind the mark in line with the goals and dispose of the ball like players who are having a set shot have to get in line with the goals. And then Swan says HTB is the best its been adjudicated. Fool.

I am not much of a fan of the Saints or Lyon, however, maybe I'm a dinosaur who's time is just about up but I can't see the racism there?

In somewhat good news for Adem Yze, this record won't last long as long as Andrew McQualter gets to 50 games at West Coast.

Yeah I'm sure if we tell Jed Walter or Ethan Read that we can develop and help you reach your full potential like we did with Morris and Gallop we can easily convince them. Our slow start has somewhat been mitigated by the Bulldogs' injuries and the mediocre form of Geelong and Gold Coast. For all the uproar about Gold Coast's academy picks in the last 3 years none of them have progressed all that much tbh.
What if he saw three Queensland players teaming up and he said “I love the pineapple connection but….”If he saw 3 white players sticking extra-close together, presumably he wouldn’t have leapt to the conclusion that they were doing so on the basis of their race.
He saw three indigenous players and immediately drew that conclusion.
It’s basically a textbook example of what you’d see described as “casual racism” in policy documents or sensitivity training materials. Not malicious in intent but still very capable of causing offence because they are being “othered” or categorised on their racial characteristics.
It could also be seen reinforcing an antiquated stereotype that Indigenous players put their “brothers” before the team as a whole, which can be read as an implication that Indigenous players are less professional.
Sounds like it was handled very well after the fact by all involved. Ross included.
I'd have NFI what he means, so probably! What if he saw three Queensland players teaming up and he said “I love the pineapple connection but….”
Would you Queenslanders be offended?
Walter is a spud. No footy IQ but an amazing athlete. Read on the other hand… wow he could be a special talent.Yeah I'm sure if we tell Jed Walter or Ethan Read that we can develop and help you reach your full potential like we did with Morris and Gallop we can easily convince them.
FWIW I was happy and agree with Hollow Knight s post about the "incident".What if he saw three Queensland players teaming up and he said “I love the pineapple connection but….”

from my listening to the various interviews this morning, the indigenous boys were making Ross aware of the potential issue with his comment, rather than having a problem with it. Raising it with him gives the education of how something like that could be poorly received.FWIW I was happy and agree with Hollow Knight s post about the "incident".
All a bit of a storm in a teacup, it seems the Indigenous players at Saints had little to no problem with it.

A more apt comparison from a Lions POV might be > Training drill- Darragh Joyce to Ben Murphy to Conor McKenna for an end to end goal. Fages yells out- Begorrah begorrah fellas love our Irish connection.![]()
