Coach Adem Yze

Here is a sobering thought.

We talk about the lack of progress in the developing young kids, but no one talks about the other side of this problem. What mature age player has not gone backwards rapidly, or quit on the club entirely?

Is anyone playing "career best" footy at the moment? Or remotely close to it?
Ryan’s playing the best footy of his career. But I’d still be furious if he’s playing AFL this weekend.

We have 15 players on the injury list. A lot of those names would be in our best 23.

We can’t truly judged Yze, until we’ve got a clean run on the injuries. That means it’s his job for life.

It’s was hard to replace Hardwick, given the close bond he had established over multiple premierships.
So, if next year and the year after if we have injuries do, we just continue not to judge Yze? lol

I thought the extension was a little premature based on what we have seen. yes, injuries have been hard to ignore, but at some stage we have to start judging his performances with the players we out there at the time. do we think he should be doing better or worse?

Mate I don't need to witness another great Richmond footy club I never thought I'd see a flag in my life time I'm more then content
Ohh, ok, so why are you posting on here then? It must be a waste of time for you.

Let's be real here, he is probably right who the hell survives this record injuries or not at some stage he will get the sack!
The club will wait until the team has things sorted and we are finally expecting better results than he will get the flick.

Hart never coached us from 1980 to '82. Who writes this crap? Mr. Jewel did

He didn’t coach us but he coached footscray from 80 to 82.

This was always going to be his path. You always wanted to be the next Richmond coach.

Finished dead last in 2024 with a better list that had graham baker rioli and bolton a younger taranto and hopper too. Warning signs were there.

Club hasn't helped him anywhere near enough which is not his fault. Medical department has royally f**** him as well.

But Has to go now unfortunately, unless we start improving from here till end of season with the available cattle...

Yep when there are guys like Simpson, Longmire, Buckley all floating around...

You would really need to show you have the special sauce to survive a record as poor as this

There were some signs of promise last game so maybe he is as aware of his peril as the rest of us. Coaching for his life. Not needing to win, per se, but wins based on tactics and togetherness and youth will absolutely help him survive.

Me, i wouldn't have picked him. Played for a perennial "just a contender" club at the time with no great coaching IP, and no culture of success. He was too young to appreciate Balme's wisdom and then Neale D was a good not great coach.

He was involved in two successful teams but it's never really clear until you elevate them just which(if any) assistant coaches have what it takes to be a head coach, and a successful one.

Maybe he will prove me wrong. Good.

The want away 4 , wanted away but they had checked out on Ouzo that year which is an indictment on him as a people manager , got them offside very early replacing the flag posters with a camel ffs , a stuffed tiger I can understand but a camel , probably the same stuffed camel from the great western pub in Cobar

I don’t think he last, because I can’t see any significant on-field improvement in the short term. I say that with no satisfaction, but we are 2 years into a 6 year rebuild. He’s had a terrible run with injuries, we’ve changed course and he’s taken the reigns from the most successful coach since Tommy Haley. Plus, he’s been let down by the leadership at both the Executive and Board level and the boat has now sailed.

He’s also a bust because we’ve dropped alarmingly this year on some key off-field metrics, being membership, game day attendance and sponsorship. The cub will need a circuit breaker at some point and it will be sacking the coach.

Finally, it’s difficult to hide from the fact that he’s running with the worst, all time, win-loss ratio after coaching 50 games, members are getting frustrated with his messaging and we are now questioning whether we should have invested so heavily in the draft.

yep. Dimma's timing really stuffed us. we were in the Cunis position in the 23 draft. the trades were modest, at best. we pushed picks back in exchange for late pics the next year? so we had our first pick at 40.

if only we had just taken Taranto and not added Hopper. we could have been in the game for Caleb Windsor types in 23.

The curse of Meehan's camel.. still haunting us.

Club wont sack him, our injury list gives the club an out. Rightly or wrongly.
If injuries keep happening next year & the year after while Yze is contracted? than who is getting the blame?

If that happens than the whole club should get sacked, but I have a feeling they will pull the trigger on Yze when questions start arising of their own jobs on the line.

There is no way Yze will see out this contract none, is it entirely his own fault, no? but it just hasn't worked out.

One thing that Geelong is very good at is keeping premiership players involved at the club after they retire.
Who's still involved from 17-20? Jake Batchelor........Dave Astbury is now a board member i suppose but...
We need to get back Grigg, Cotch or Rance IMO.
