So you're isolating Reid?

Reid is averaging 23 disposals and 4.4 clearances a game.
He has lifted his output this year and is tracking nicely for a third year player.

How much more do you want him to do?

If you're comparing him to daicos you're being grossly unfair to an outside runner that is basically feeding off quality mids in the guts.

He's an example. He's one player that is (rightly) picked every week and spends most of his time in the midfield.

I would like him to not let his direct opponent run 30m off him in the front half in the first 5-10 minutes of games. I would like the same of Yeo and Kelly but at 33 and 32 this year leopards don't change their spots. Reid is 21 and far from a finished product. But if he's going to be the $1m+ a year franchise player he's going to be compared to other stars of the game.

Daicos is a Rolls Royce, one of the most damaging outside players in the game. He has 35 clearances and 65 contested possessions so far this year. Reid has 31 and 73. I'm not comparing Reid to Lachie Whitfield or Jack Sinclair. Daicos also has 60 more uncontested possessions. Daicos is a far more complete player with two more years in the system, but he's been a pretty complete player for a while.

Daicos is an out and out gun but he's also been coached to be this player by Collingwood since he was about 12 years old and the entire gameplan is engineered to get the ball in his hands.

He also is completely unaccountable, because he's been instructed to play that way.

I'm not suggesting Harley shouldn't be more accountable but he's the type of player we want to get the ball in the hands of, not the player doing the grunt work.

Realistically, it's the likes of Hewett and Allan who need to be doing that kind of stuff currently if they're in the side, not that Dev and Graham are out for an extended period of time.

The fact that baker is co captain was testament to the fact that we needed and need him.

Our list has turned over almost 90 percent in 4 years. The draft picks from 2018 to 2022 are non existent.
We had to fill our list with 27 to 30 year olds as a result. We have a massive leadership dearth.

We did not have to do anything. We've been playing Cole, Flynn, Owies, Schoenberg, Macrae, Cripps, Kelly etc. in the WAFL to varying degrees. If we were desperate to have more experience in the AFL side we would have. We could have kept TB, Ryan etc. and chose not to. We don't get to let experienced players go, play the experienced players on the list we do have in the WAFL and then complain the team doesn't have enough experience.

If you think we didnt need any ones of baker, Graham, schoenberg etc you don't understand the level of shitness simpson and Nisbett etc took us down.

Did I say that? No.

I advocated looking at Jack Steele when Liam Ryan to St Kilda became a thing. I'd be happy with bringing in Cripps or Neale or any number of younger players of lesser standing in the game. I don't rate James Worpel that highly but he would be in our best 23 and was a band 4 free agent. He'd have been worth bringing in - as a band 4 free agent. That's his level, that's his value.

Maybe the 100 point losses X 9 will help.
Maybe the fact we have the 10 youngest players in the AFL playing weekly in our team, not just on our list.

Baker is a godsend. He's not Dangerfield etc but he's the biggest plus to our list for leadership on and off the field for a long time.
It cost us a bit yeah, maybe overs but its what we had to pay to get him and Graham as a package deal.

Are you Don Pyke?

If you've won 10 games in 3 years and there's a choice between having pick 3 in a highly rated draft or Liam Baker, the correct choice is the former. Sorry Liam Baker, but in a club in the position WC were can't afford to be missing out on a top 15 selection in that draft to get a 26 year old because he's a good dude. Find a pick in the 20s or trade a future second and if that's not enough for an OOC player then so be it. Footy is a business. People cut the club admin wayyy too much slack in overpaying for players coming in and accommodating players going out.

Common thread with teams at/building towards the top that they don't have lists full of players they overpaid to acquire.

Not a coach's arseh*le.

If the club had any balls he'd be gone tomorrow. Would take an empty chair over this clueless muppet.

Has there ever been an easier team/game plan to coach against?

"If you run just marginally harder than they do, you'll win every time."

Really hard to defend this guy right now.

Same way to beat the Eagles week after week. As soon as we lose possession in our forward half the score in inevitable. Walk it out, stretch the zone, over the top, goal.

Just utterly demoralising.

Can't wait for him to pull out some irrelevant stat we won in the press conference and point to it as a win.

Genuinely has no business being a senior coach.

Any guesses what the presser will be like? Another smug McQualter throwing up piss weak answers to piss-weak questions?

"Hey Andrew. How do you teach the youth about accountability when your match committee consistently continue to select older players every week who have putrid skills and dont play hard?"

I'm sorry Andrew McQualter, but if you can't beat a winless Richmond with half a list at home, them **** off.

Andrew McQualter, **** right off

+19 inside 50s would be the one but with no method actually entering our forward line to begin with, we could be +100 and still lose.
