not sure he holds his spot when others become available but has done brilliantly from where he was placed a few months ago. running the lines really well and I'd imagine doing exactly what the coaches are asking of him. will have a few more weeks to maybe cement a spot. as others have said needs a bit more size.

Think he has slotted into a tough role very nicely. Not even a single post in his thread.

Good decision making to draw a player for Jonty's first and reckon he got a nice little tap over top that led to Jonty's second.

I’ve seen enough to think he’ll ’make it’

Does some serious gut running out there and this is from a guy whose come in as a late recruit.

It’s not glamorous as a HF but somebody has to do it.

I'm seeing Kane Lambert a lot in him.

Bit of a sieve defensively. His defensive presence is a near negative at this point.

but 15 touches all coming from open play (no FF and marks), 5 of them as I50s off a HFF in game 2 is great. Forward thinking game that's got solid fundamentals, despite the evident physical development required.

Blokes can run and tackle all day in that position but if you can't find the pill, you're just a highlight merchant at best, and a liability at worst. Late stage Jack Graham was in the middle somewhere and was extremely forgettable and frankly ineffective.

He'll be torn to shreds in a few games this year but will be okay in the long run because of his game intelligence - staying loose, playing within limits, natural understanding of play in that area of the ground.

His tackle pressure was fine in the VFL. I think it's just a body size thing.

Just rewatched the second half and this kid had a great 3rd quarter. Delivered heaps of quality ball inside 50. He must be feeling awesome after having to work so friggin hard to get in the squad

Was going to say the say the same, what a story and effectively a freebie the way it worked out.

This kid apparently is a sponge .turns up everywhere with a notebook and pen.now he knows he can be good enough at the level ..very short pre season ..He's the guy who will do the extra sessions off his own bat and he will be in very good nick at the start of next season ..he will work on his size and strength ..he will add to his already high level of endurance ..I agree with people comparing him to Kane Lambert ..will become invaluable

Ironic that people are comparing him to Kane Lambert in many ways

lambert didn't have an easy path to AFL and had to do a few years at VFL before finally being selected and making himself a premiership player and a loved and admired Richmond player.

Also Burton is the exact same height as Lambert and didnt have an easy pathway onto a list after being passed up in the draft and had to work his butt off to get a spot.

As others have mentioned he will need a couple of seasons to het his body strong enough and hopefully increase his running even more in a pro-environment and few preseasons.

Now that he is on a list and played his 2nd game hop he see's a career in the waiting for himself

Kane Lambert esque

Worked out why he didn’t get drafted. Pulled out of mark going back with flight. Horrible look
I reckon he’d be filthy at himself for that and won’t see it again.
