Extremely tough fixture with Gold Coast playing Darwin very well - they have won 8 games in a row up there. They have not been playing great as of late though and are definitely gettable.
Will be handy if Rowell is out another week.

LOC Wilki Silvagni
Sincs howard Flanders
Hill Naz Wilson
Owens Phillapou Ryan
Hall Marshall Henry
TDK Windy Hugo
Stock Camaniti McRae

A couple things. I’m not concerned about Boxy, Trav or Tauru at all. This time around with Ross, I think his development plan is pretty clear.

If guys are good enough, they’ll get an opportunity in their first year. Get a taste of AFL level. Some guys then are good enough to stay.

Wilson for instance. Between 1-3 years though Ross has shown he’ll be patient and drop and allow the guys to develop their skills or weakness’s.

Windy, Garcia, Wilson, Pou, hall.

Then when they come back in they’re generally more well rounded.

Another thing is I’m loving how many of our guys are now rolling through the midfield.

Wilson
Pou
Hall
Flanders
Windy
Hugo
Naz
Henry maybe as well.

also none of them are slow which is a trap we fell into with Ratts and Richo. It’s a more exciting more dynamic set up. A real Sydney style of development.

They are formidable up there for sure, but a bunch of those wins of late were close ones. They aren't playing that well and our boys are pretty on song so I'm confident it will be close at least.

This is the type of win that could mean a lot come late August.

Will be hot and humid as hell but if we can eke out a win here then we are really setup to have a decent season. Win this and then take on Richmond. Hmmm….

Some of the things in our favour is that their game yesterday was in heavy conditions and they only get a 6 day break before they have to play in Darwin. They also dont tag through their midfield so NAS should be able to get off the lead. Hopefully we send Windhager to Petracca and he can quell his influence.

The best thing our coaches can do is put the sprinklers on the ground before training to simulate playing in wet conditions, because thats what its like playing in Darwin even during the dry.

We wont want to be getting jumped by them as they wont fold up like a pack of cards that Carlton are.

A win and even i might believe that we are a chance of finals , I mean the eight not the Mickey Mouse 10th Bullshit

I think we have a fairly good team balance at the moment with the only obvious changes being Butler for Ryan and Wilson for probably Liam O'Connell but he may have played his role well so im not sure.

In: Collard, Wilson, Ryan
Out: Stocker, Macrae, Butler

Should get our running game going in difficult conditions with these ins.

Windy to Petracca who’s been their best player of late?

Dougald to Bing, Wilkie to Ugle-Hagan, Silvagni to Read or Gulbin, and O’Connell to Long?

The territory game and F50 pressure going to be the biggest challenge with Suns having one of the better midfields in the league, and usually getting reasonable supply from their back half.

Conditions will be tough. Suns are more used to them but they are coming off a day less break in a bit of a Sunday night slog.

Winning this could really set up our season. Feels massive but very, very tough.

Interesting to see how we structure up here.

Wilson and Ryan should be handy ins.

I love Lyon's new mantra that you mainly play against yourself. We need to bring our best game here.

Butler for Ryan is straightforward.

Wilson for either Macrae or O'Connell.

First instinct is O'Connell given the similar role but not sure the hot and humid conditions will suit a slower mid like Macrae.
Yeah I feel the same. O'Connell seems fit as, he grew into that game in the second half and I can see why we'd keep him on a wing, although with Wilson and Hill in is there space?

Hill has been spending a lot of time at half back but you are right, it could be too much outside for one game.

One or two forced changes for the Suns, right? I think it was Clohsey with a dangerous tackle (don't know him from a bar of soap so not sure if that helps us much) and surely Long gets a week after slapping around Oliver, unless they introduced a discount for funniest infraction.

Really hoping Ryan recovers well and is fresh. Same for Wilson. Need to inject some speed back in. I love what Macrae can do when he gets the ball, but I feel like he'll get exposed in a faster paced match so wouldn't mind him making way.

If Collard is ready to translate that VFL performance to the big time, then let him.

Sprinklers at Moorabbin. What will they think of next, an Animal Enclosure?!

I'm actually stoked for Longy that he didn't cop weeks and gets to play in Darwin but if it was any other club he would have had a holiday. Incredible really.
He must love not playing for StKilda. Used to get suspended for us for looking at somebody the wrong way.

Agree with the Mickey Mouse bullshit.

Finishing 7th or 8th is the same as 9th and 10th this year though so I’m happy just to finish in the 10.
